Correct, that area is typically where the rear tailgate of the vehicle is so it is left without a wall.

The James Baroud Vision is what I would also suggest for a thin packing soft shell. The Alu Cab Expedition 3 RTT is also less than 12" closed as a hard shell option. The James Baroud hard shell tents are going to push your limits at 13" closed

Thanks for the kind words! In the rear I use an AEV CHMSL with rear camera. It is barely visible when not illuminated as it blends well with the Salta rim. The front plate.... ;) I should have a front plate, however it resides under my passenger seat. I have not been stopped in my JK's going on...

James, the Old Man Emu BP-51's are brilliant in design, finish and ride quality. Being able to adjust the suspension between "light load" daily driving and "fully loaded" week long trips off-road, means you do not need to compromise towards one or another. Also if you compare apples to apples...
