Lexus GX550 Overtrail vs. Grenadier or new Toyota Land Cruiser?

I'm quite content with the two, high mileage rigs I own but I'm very curious about the Gren, strictly from a knowledge base point of view. They seem to be a well thought out platform.

Nah, OE ain't my jam. I'll wait to see the Gren on dirt, like how it's marketed [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk

5 lbs propane tank inside of vehicle

I carry a 6lb worthington alum propane tank inside for several years but I don't sleep in the 80, rather on top in the RTT. I also carry, GASP, a 5g NATO fuel can inside for special times. https://powertank.com/products/cyl-pp06

Lexus GX550 Overtrail vs. Grenadier or new Toyota Land Cruiser?

This has been an interesting read why my coffee is being made at the office. I haven't seen a Gren in my neck of the woods but it'd be cool to run into one or to wheel a trail with in UT just for some understanding of the platform.

    Kamparoo Transcontinental rear-fold (new build)

Oh man, o man, you're bringing back some memories for me as well. My daughter grew up in a '02 Transcontinental Pack Weekender, and I think I owned it for 15 years maybe? I'm glad to see some improvements like a more robust tongue design. I essentially did something similar to mine as the...

    Litium batteries for winching

Modern day alternators can handle pumping out high enough voltages to keep AGM batts happy. Sometimes a simple trick to full the alternator into pushing out higher voltage is all it takes. My '96 landcruiser alternator would destroy AGM batt over a year. Hopefully, your charging system can...

    Can we talk coffee brewing?

I'm now dating someone who drinks black coffee. I refuse to let her bring pre-ground coffee to camping so it's time to grind espresso and coarse coffee!!

    quiet generator options?

This is a great compromise, especially camping with an infant and the need for a/c. During the summers, I aim for high elevation camping but that's a luxury that some may not have. I agree with others as there's no such thing as a "quiet" generator. Even my Honda 2000 is quiet when it's...

    Litium batteries for winching

I have a Warn M10k winch and I purposely buried my 7500# 80 series landcruiser for a winch training class many, many moons ago. It was Midwest mud, nice and black! IIRC, the current showed was 600amp+ while operating the winch. These current loads are sudden and came as multiple hits which...

Sewing Thread....A discussion on making your own adventure textile gear.

Paul - thanks for your input. That was my thought as well, see what the local outfit would charge when I take the whole shebang over to them. I have two normal sewing machines and will attempt this on my own first just to see if I can do it. I'm going to have to setup several bobbins so...

Sewing Thread....A discussion on making your own adventure textile gear.

hello folks, I need some guidance with a sewing project of mine. The stitching on my canvas has been coming apart and I'd like to remove the whole thing off the camper and re-stitch over the factory stitching. Obviously this is a LOT of material that needs to fit through the opening of a...
