Been a while since there was any action in this thread, so I'll post up a few other images from their website of the latest BASE-CAMP.

Yep, here is the picture of the induction/propane cooktop from the gallery on their website....

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

I've loved those campers since they were first introduced way back when as XPCampers. Love the shower placement as well. Little different layout and design allows them to do the shower there. The camper is only for a long bed and the toilet stall is a bit larger than there is room for in the...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

In our CAMP-X, we use a regular Thetford portable toilet, but the CAMP-HBE opens up a lot more options. We try to avoid using our camper toilet for solids if other options are available (outhouses or safe areas to bury), but sometimes those options are not available or more challenging that...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

Others may have other reasons, but the two main reasons for us would be, first, like you said, BASE-CAMP is not easily removable for when you need the pickup in the summer or to remove and store the camper in the off-season. Second is the BASE-CAMP is roughly twice the price of the CAMP-HBE...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

I've always liked the idea of showers being located in the entryway right inside the camper door. I wouldn't mind there needing to be a drain hole cut in the tray but you still need some type of floorplan to direct the water to the drain which would mean there being some type of raised floor in...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

My pleasure. A lot of great discussion and ideas from everyone on the thread. The fun expedition portal. Congrats! I'll face northwest and wave around 9am on Tuesday (I'm around a mile from BSRV as the crow flies).

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

The CAMP-X and CAMP-HBE are both 81.25" wide (not counting brackets or jacks. We don't travel with the jacks). The CAMP-M is for midsize pickups and is 77" wide. For sleeping east to west, the CAMP-M wouldn't work for my wife (5' 10") or myself (6' 0") as it's 72.25" wide inside. The CAMP-HBE...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

I guess my take on it is there are as many different camper sizes and choices as there are potential owners with different needs. Some people pack light and/or do 7 - 10 day trips at the longest (my wife and I fall into this category) and a light weight, more overland-capable camper is of higher...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

Yes. A 12' long, hard sided, couple hundred thousand dollar, OEV Summit X camper has more storage than the OEV Camp-HBE, smaller profile, lighter, offroad-intended, removable, 6.5' pop-up camper. More amenities as well.

Take a peek at the images in the first few pages. I post images of all the available storage. There are some walk through videos showing as well.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Best location of the added roof weight would depend on where you feel you can exert the strongest lift. If that is the rear, then better to have the rocket box there. If that is in the cabover and you crawl up on the bed and push up with your back and that is the position of most strength, then...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I'd watched that a while ago and so didnt re-watch, but I recall thinking the T slots will be handy for feeding in tarp tie downs on various sides of the camper. We prefer doing that over having an awning since awnings never seem to be in the correct spot as the sun moves througout the day...

Dug back to older posts and here is one from "Ontheroad22" with string lights, though this example goes all the way around the front, mine primarily run around the rear and behind the front vent as we wanted the light in the living space rather than cabover, but this gives you an idea of how it...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

These are the USB lights that I used and the 3M tabs (no affiliation with either and no rewards for using these links). There are other sources for similar. These are just the ones we used. I planned a bit before hanging them. Determined where they would start (by the usb on the switch panel)...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Someone previously posted a link to a dimmer switch they used to replace the toggle switch. That would allow for dimming the overhead LED domes. I find the placement of the domes odd. Logical because of conduit path constraints, but odd. Wish they were 1' long strip LED rather than domes and...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Wish I'd documented that when I did it a couple seasons ago. Now I can't remember! I did pull the fridge out about 8 inches when I first received the camper because the Truma temp sensor wires were never plugged in, but I don't think I pulled out the freezer compartment at that time. And even...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

OEV CNC routers the panels in house. They don't specify who manufactures them, but they are proprietary (though I'm sure similar) to other industrial composite panels. The need for different extrusions would likely be the bigger factor. Those are manufactured in Alberta. The main deciding...

2021 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-HBE pop-up flatbed pickup camper (renamed the "Hudson Bay" for 2023 model year)

You've mentioned some good LiFePo4 brands before, but I'll mention one I'm familiar with: SOK brand. They make really good 100Ah and 206Ah batteries. I couldn't fit one in my CAMP-X due to their non-typical dimensions so I used a Battleborn 100Ah there, but I have used two of the SOK 206Ah in my...
