That is tight! I imagine the battery and wiring were installed and cabinets went in around it afterwards so there wasn't much thought given to removal. Since I'll likely add only one 100amp lithium (likely BattleBorn), mine will fit fine. If I wanted two of them, I'd likely have to remove the...
Wow! Lots of great posts since I was last visited the thread. Here I thought all was quiet since I hadn't received an "watcher" email. I must have missed one. Once you miss one, the system doesn't send you another until you visit the thread.
For our updates, my wife and I had a great season...
I sent image of my shunt/sensor and REDARC said it was the old part. They are sending me the newer part number and having me return the old. This is only the shunt and battery sensor; not the entire unit. I should then be good down to the -13 F charging for agm/lead acid speced in the owners...
Heard back from REDARC last night and as a previous poster noted, they made an update to their battery sensor/shunt to correct the issue and they suspect mine pre-dates this update (even though my camper was just built this spring). I owe them an image of the bottom of the sensor so they can...
I follow you now.
Some aspects of the REDARC that I did like:
MPPT solar controller (vs the cheaper PWM that I used in my previous camper)
The DC to DC (because my Tundra pushes notoriously low voltage but the REDARC boosts it to appropriate voltage and programmable amperage before sending it...
I actually like the idea of one unit being the solar controller, DC charger, AC charger, etc. Electronics such as these are typically quite reliable. I really love this system minus this one shortcoming, which doesn't even match their owners manual.
Will mention that the charging cut off...
Fankly, "Because Lithium" makes zero sense because I'm not charging lithium and do not have it on lithium setting. I've not run across any other solar charger or battery management system that will not charge an AGM or Lead Acid battery once the temp hits 32 degrees F. because there is no...
Much to my surprise, I just received the cold weather charging error on my REDARC. I've had this new slide-in pickup camper since spring and this is first cold weather charging. I'm in MT and it dropped to about zero degrees F. last night. Truck and camper are out in the shop where it's about 20...
6th,
That compartment is a fair bit different. Looks like the lid would have to span all the way over to the right of the opening up onto the cushion "shelf". While the aluminum covers are thin, I wonder if that would cause a lump under the seat cushion. Maybe not an issue depending on how and...
6th,
I measured the lid and compartment opening on my 2020 so you could compare with yours and determine if the new stock lid would work.
Lid: 18.5" wide x 20.5" deep.
Opening: 15.5" wide x 16.5" deep.
Sounds like your layout is similar to the 2019 production models. But the arrangement inside the compartment doesn't matter for the lid. Surely the rim of your compartment is very similar in that it has enough of a lip for a aluminum cover. You'll just need to measure the opening and ensure the...
Kind of goofy, but it occurred to me that my forum ID of chadx is similar to the CAMP-X model name. The two are not related. I've been using chadx as an email ID since 1998 and that is my forum name on nearly every forum I belong to (unless it's already taken when I join a new one).
6th,
Check out the pictures in both post-2787061 and a few posts ago and compare to yours. I can't recall what they did for your prototype rig, though I recall seeing the video long ago. More than likely the new aluminum compartment cover will work for your camper, or they can custom cut one to...
My wife loves the drawer as well, but I prefer to lift the portipotti off the drawer and set it on the floor at night. I gave the drawer a chance all summer, but I just prefer the stability of it sitting on the floor. We only use our portipotti for urine and since a portipotti is a sit down...
Here are the images of the new cushions and raised dinette floor we ordered.
The new cushions were ordered for several reasons. Primary reason was to eliminate the battery/water tank compartment lid from being integrated into the cushion. See the separate aluminum lid in the image. This allows...
My wife and I have been busy on camping, boating/fishing, biking, electric motorcycle, ATV and dual sport rides over the summer (when not working full time) and have also been waiting for a few mods I ordered from Overland Explorer; Updated dinette cushion layout and raised dinette floor. Those...
Mid-season changes including dinette raised floor (thanks for the call-out Arnold!). I ordered one and I'll install in my CAMP-X. It will have a little less cubby room since I already have a 2" raised dinette floor, but will still give a bit of storage and, more importantly, will be more...
Seahaul,
I mention that somewhere in my mega posts above. Ha. There are pros and cons to this order of layers. As you noted, the negative of the clear window being on the outside is either having to unzip it from inside, with the chance of bugs getting in while you then zip back up the...
