Who's lining up to buy a 2023 Sequoia and NOT a 2022 Tundra?

Just curious who else prefers the Sequoia (at a glance) to the Tundra? Styling of the Tundra is growing on me which helps that the Sequoia shares headlights and fenders with the Tundra. I think the Tundra just missed marks on payload and towing, etc.

My trucks GVWR is 7350, tow rating 7700. Perhaps max tow trucks had GVWR of 7700 and it’s a coincidence that my tow rating and their GVWR are the same. 11300 lbs sounds correct for the max tow rating on a 2012 truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I think max tow would be hire, my truck is not max tow, didn’t even include a factory brake controller and it is rated for 7700lbs towing. 5.0 with 3:55 gears, believe 3,73 gearing would have made my truck rated for 9800lbs. I think max tow was over 10k for 2012 but I don’t have a chart in front...

    RSI Smartcap questions?

I had big dreams of designing a modular cap/tonneau/ladder rack system once upon a time. Utilize the stake pockets of the truck bed, build an external skeleton frame that could function as a ladder rack. Remove the most rear uprights and have a headache rack. Design panels to act as a tonneau...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Your truck wouldn't have had the HDPP package, it would have been a stripped down XLT with minimal options and package specific wheels. Good looking truck though, good to know what they are capable of as well

E-bike or motorcycle for secondary vehicle

I too looked at a CRF300l and was shocked by the quote of $7500 out the door. This is a $5500 bike everywhere I read reviews and prices... thought about it though, $5500 is MSRP for the bike, there may have been a day and age where you walked out at or under MSRP but tax title and tags cost...

1/2 Ton vs 3/4 Ton for Family Adventures?

I would be going F350 as well if I was buying a super duty, better to have the capacity and not need it when the trucks are so similar if not physically the same. Some state though may have different registration fees or limitation due to GVWR

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

2017 was when the 2nd gen 3.5 ecoboost with both direct and port injection came out. This is also my current search criteria and similarly I'm in no need to purchase a new tuck but if a deal came along I wouldn't turn it down.

One would suspect that those who purchase single cabs use their truck more as a tool than as a family vehicle, one would also suspect that the same people are less inclined to voice opinions. There will be water if God wills it. That is until there's been no rain for over a decade, the truck...

1/2 Ton vs 3/4 Ton for Family Adventures?

Either of those trailers could be towed with a half ton. I feel a lot of experienced RVers would say the later is 3/4 ton territory. Even the smaller of the two could benefit from a 3/4 ton towing it but should be doable with a half ton. I'm in a similar boat as you, I have a 2012 F150, right...

1/2 Ton vs 3/4 Ton for Family Adventures?

Is this still your primary use case? If so what size travel trailer are you considering? Something modest that can sleep a family of 4 and a dog, has a bathroom, and kitchen could weigh as little as 3500lbs on a single axle. You could also want to tow the taj mahal. More realistically for a...

Why are most aftermarket wheels so BroDozer?

the wheel manufacturer rotiform recently (at least to my knowledge) released their STL line of wheels. aluminum wheels that look like classic steel wheels. Still 9" wide and low offset though. Can't have your cake and eat I guess?

Why are most aftermarket wheels so BroDozer?

these are 7 lug wheels from the HDPP F150, not compatible with most F150s. I believe the XL non HDPP trucks did have a similar style steel wheel though that should fit any trim F150

Not certain of the model year the OP previously owned but I do know that 2013-2014 was an interior refresh with updated dash starting to incorporate a screen/display with back up camera. Might make the truck feel modern enough to sway his opinion

[ I'm 5'8" on a good day and the CRF300L felt perfect for me. Kicking myself for not just buying it but it wasn't really in the cards when my local dealership had one in, not to mention they were price gouging some with the supply chain issues. still looking to get one some day though. at...

Why are most aftermarket wheels so BroDozer?

Fords have 6x135mm bolt pattern, its an odd ball so most wheels are made in the much more common 6x5.5" (6x139.7mm) bolt pattern. Ford switched to this bolt pattern in 2004 I believe with the 11 gen F150 around the time big wheels were becoming common place. This makes it hard to find...
