My last trip to Baja with the Tundra and camper has left me wanting.....
summer has finally arrived in the Sierras! Lots of hiking trails are still buried in snow, ski area is still open into August with an amazing amount of GOOD skiing to be had in the AM. Then afternoons spent wake boarding or Mtb/hiking. Its rough.

we were in the Village for 11 years. Just moved (3 years ago :Wow1: ) our shop to Downtown, on Old Mammoth Rd. in front of Vons. 501 OldMammoth Rd. Nicer shop with much better parking.
This may be related to the Transmission fluid. Has it been serviced, fluid changed out? Shudder is common when the Trans fluid goes bad. Worth a shot, and certainly time to do it if never been done or uncertain if it has.

Any type of traction device added to an open diff. running in 4x2 is going to add a huge advantage. ARB is tops as it is the most durable, an OEM elocker diff swap will be less expensive. Both are selectable and that is key.

Have you contacted Northstar and given them pics of said issue? Ive found them very helpful in brainstorming small repairs. Nothing to that extent.
