Northstar side height
Found a like new '11 North Star 850 locally, it does not have the additional spacer blocks screwed to the bottom frame like I have seen on other NS hard sides. I forgot to measure the height of the vertical sides that go in the truck bed.
Measured mine it 20" , hope...
Lite weight Service body ?
Larry. Thanks for more info and pics. Looked up the "Brand X" site http://www.brandfxbody.com/ and I like their BFXB 40LS Service body, never rust and I think great for installing a Truck Pop-Up
Camper. Fits a SBCC. Just my cup of tea.
Lightweight composite...
Water hose storage
Found a place to store my water hose. Under the rear dinette seat above the LP compartment. Remove the rear seat plywood screws and add hinges the plywood. I Installed plywood on top of the metal LP compartment. see pics
battery tray
looks like those nuts in the tray will rub thru the bottom of the battery, I have seen toy extra battery box units in the same place you are working, maybe copy some ideas to mount yours. I agree the 34/78 will fit, plus an alt isolator.=brian
US Army has great Chevy's
Not mine, but I can wish=quadratrac (4 wheel steer) 6 lt engine. very nice rear tire carrier and rear bumper= any one know if the tire rack/bumper is available?? .brian
jack extensions
When it comes to load on the bed of the truck= Like Stan said you will need jack extension plates to make the camper jacks wider, I temp used 3" channel iron between the jack and camper.
Just FYI=brian
With winter camping season approaching, here’s an idea to keep your Pop-up Truck camper warm inside.
I purchased a roll of silver bubble insulation from HD 25’x24”, cut a piece the width and length of my top pop-up just to see if it worked in cold weather.
We went on the Southern Calf, American...
camper bed hold down
I recommend HappiJac bed hold downs for your Dodge, Keep the brackets on the Nissen that the camper was on in the junk-yard. Looks like an easy build.
removal FP
I just removed the hold downs, climb inside truck and lifted it with my back up a inch or so , move back a foot or so and turn the F/P 90 degrees and rest on bed rail, with one friend in center front and you at the locked rear glass. the 2 of you should be able to remove, if it too...
My FYI on toilet
I found the Thetford toilets and other brands just too low & hard to squat down @ around 14” tall, and the unit bowls are plastic and #2 sticks, even when you use the toilet paper slide. Most home toilets are 16” tall, that why I changed to a sealed PETT system...
