I had a 3500 with the manual inflate airbags. Every time I checked the pressure it would never be where I set it initially.
My current truck has Hellwig air bags with a firestone automatic remote controlled compressor. It allows me to inflate either or both sides
while driving. I mainly just...
Looking Good! Its the experiments that make for a great sense of satisfaction:)
Be sure to get the automatic air compressor for those air bags. Air pressure is affected by so many things, its near impossible to maintain
desired level.
Thanks, I think cabinetry is my least favorite of the build. Just not up to the level I wanted, but it will do:)
Yeah, I'm happy with the propex heater too. Although there are still openings in the camper, it heats up quickly. The foam panels
should do a nice job insulating.
I'm ignorant on...
Found this gadget, now I can control coach powered lights from the drivers seat remotely.
Solar panels have arrived
The above panels are set on the camper temporarily. Any thoughts as to whether all four panels should lay flat on the roof or two on the slant and two on the roof?
Finishing up the cabinetry

Propex Heater install
For installation it is recommended to use a two stage regulator, so I did. However, I'm using a splitter to also run the tankless water heater.
For whatever reason, when the regulator is connected to the splitter, there is not enough...
Camper bolts to flatbed, flatbed is bolted to welded brackets on frame. When I had the flatbed made, I specifically requested that it be made for 4x4 so as to not rub the tires when off-roading.
While it sits a few inches higher, the cross members provide a rigid platform that prevents the...
The original question; " If you build a strong enough camper and attach it rigidly to the cab, can't you fasten the whole ensemble hard to the frame?"
Tiger's Bengal model has been built this way for years on Ford, Chevy, and Dodge trucks. I have yet to hear of any frame failure.
The coach...
Without actually seeing, it sounds like it may be too thin for panel construction. If it's what I think, this skin is for
covering only. May explain the price at $1. However, it wouldn't hurt to do some testing first. The carbon nanotube epoxy
is very strong.
Thanks for the concern, I appreciate it.
I did several tests before starting the build and was amazed at the bonding strength.
From your picture, I can see why it peeled off; the surface almost looks like smooth plastic, much different than
the exterior surface of my panels.
I enjoy your...
I saw this about a week ago, very cool build, this guy has some skills.
I think this is another excellent example of how composite panels are being utilized.
For me welding is not an option unless I subbed it out, then it would not be a DIY :)
Lithium batteries have arrived
I've also been looking for a Norcold ACDC fridge. They are self venting so no cutting into the camper. I have one in our pop up
and have been very pleased with it.
Came across "Truckfridge" at Westy Ventures. http://westyventures.com/parts.html
Here is their...
