    DIY Composite Flatbed Camper Build

AC is a split system, 12 volt back pack for trucks, just do a search for it on Alibaba. Seems the European/Asian markets have them more readily available than here in the USA. Yes I have just speced out the power demands with the help of a friend. Learned about a very important DC charger...

The propex HS 2000 only uses 1.9amps and the 12 volt AC uses 49 in regular mode, less at night. There are rigs already running this configuration with no problem and no generator. One thing to keep in mind is the insulation value of the panels. With no cold bridging, the envelope is very tight...

I misunderstood what wet layup is. I thought you meant "only" epoxy and no glass. I almost started down the same road with the exception of using carbon fiber. Just seemed too labor intense at the time, then I came across the panels. Would love to see your build thread.

This sounds very interesting in regards to strength and weight. Your absolutely right about the sanding! Lot of time to sand, not to mention prime and paint if you want a finished look. Do you have a link to this product or pics of what your doing? My only thoughts/concerns with wet layup is...

The shower door. I spent so much time looking for one of those retractable roll up doors thinking it would save space. Then it dawned on me, why not make a slider out of two frp skins epoxied together? It worked out great. Used 1/4 inch aluminum c channel at top and bottom as tracks for the...

Yeah, learned a lot about panels over the last year. Not too many manufacturer's want to deal with the little guy and the one that does ships it in from China. Vetroresina had no problem selling product to me. Very happy with the results. Some times you just have to do it yourself :)

Made jack mounting brackets out of aluminum. Since these points will take the most stress when lifting, I had planned on bolting all the way through to the inside. However, this did not work out since I used a smaller L bracket "3inch" instead of 4. I needed a right angle to fit snug against...

Thanks for the comments. One thing to note, with the ability to make your own panels, the applications are numerous. Here are some more pics during assembly; Like I said, never done this before. Angles do not always come together perfectly, but I have found there is a lot of room for...

For the odd angles/joints I took a small stick of aluminum and bent it over the corners where needed, then took to a metal shop where they cut and bent the aluminum to my specs. It fit perfectly. This too was needed for the inside.

I made the bathroom walls prior to the roof going on. This was easier bonding than with the roof already in place. Any thing that can be bonded to the inside of the box will increase overall strength. I used 1/2" foam from home depot. After lamination, a 3/4" aluminum c channel also from home...
