This is going back 20+ years, but I think that company prepped Audis for Buffum...did a lot of Mits work...built Hyundais for Choinere. I knew several of those guys when I lived in VT. I was a road racer. All the racers knew each other, no matter the type of racing.
How's the bike? Looks like I...
I think the enduros are shakier than the Adv's. The vibration bothers me for the first 15 minutes of a street ride. Then everything goes numb and I feel fine.
I think it feels more like a paint shaker than a washing machine. I'd be cool with a washing machine...

Currently set up for canyon carving with motard wheels and tars. This thing is such a ************** ride. Also have the original dirt wheels and tars with D606s. Twenty minutes and I am ready to hit the dirt...

I'm not so sure this is true. Using biofuels in my diesel vehicles has reduced MPGs and power. A gallon of veggie diesel has fewer BTUs than a gallon of dino diesel.
There is a valuable study on fuel additives, however, that supports your last statement: using veggie diesel s a fuel additive...
There are a few minor tweaks required of earlier LC4's (640E and 640Adv). But they are just a bulletproof as the later models. So, I would not shy away from an earlier one. Creeper (on AdvRider) was very helpful to me in my purchase of a used '01 LC4E. It is the most fun and versatile bike I...
This one is mine. You can see it here in the ExPo Vehicles for sale. I am NOT selling the FP separately. I hope to keep it and the truck. My wife is not very keen on the truck, however. Ain't Momma happy; ain't no one happy... So, I would sell the truck separately and try to find another truck...

If you plan on real Adventure Touring, I'd look at the load capacity of the DRZ. I doubt it can carry 1/4th of what the KLR or DR can carry. But it is a better bike in every other way. Lighter, nimbler, better suspension...
The other thing I considered when shopping for a similar bike was air-...
This is hte best mc camping checklist I've ever found. Completely customizable. http://micapeak.com/checklists/mclist.html
The best advice I got was to unpack everything after a trip and make two piles: one of the stuff you used and one of the stuff you didn't. Easy to eliminate extra stuff...
I think the KTM Adv tank is 28 litres. I had one but I forgot the capacity. I swear by my existing KTM. It's an '01 640E (enduro). I have it set up for motard and dirt wheels/tires. It is the best bike i have ever owned and find the maintenance an easy do-it-yourself operation. I find the 640...
We went low tech with our bikes. Rather than figuring some elaborate contraption that we'd have to remove to get in and out of the back of our (now sold) van. We mounted them on the front.

There is a repo lot nearby and I saw this LC. Looks pretty straight. Stock. 6 cyl auto. Runs OK. I don't know much about these cars but I am happy to explore it more if anybody here is interested.
They are asking $4k. There is a Maico paintjob on it. Considering the prep is the worst in the...
