Good looking rig brotha ;)
Man....that picture almost brings a tear to my eye....I remember when mine looked very similar and I used to go camping and sleep in the bed.....good times right there :)!
Same here, every one I've put in mine has been the factory 82 C t-stats. I asked if they made any different temperature ranges and was told no, but I've heard that the TRD was different.
And no, there's nothing wrong with running 200 F, it just pisses me off when something like this changes...
Exact same thing happened to my Tundra (4.7L) after replacing the timing belt, water pump, t-stat with all factory Toyota parts this past Spring. It used to run around 185F, but after I installed the new water pump it now runs 190F-193F without A/C and 197F with the A/C running on a hot day...
Had a great time meeting & wheeling with you guys. I was very impressed that there were no broken axles, those Xterras are tough little dudes :victory:. Definitely a great group of people.
I'm looking forward to seeing you guys on the trails again soon.
On Sunday when we were taking Ali back...
Look for a big ugly white Tundra standing out like a sore thumb....I'll be helping some people out with the event, so don't run me off :sombrero:.
Anybody got a Nissan sticker we can cover up this shiny Toyota emblem with :ylsmoke:?
In case anyone with a Tundra or Taco decides to run a Mishimoto radiator:
Not if, but "when" you get tired of coolant trying to leak from every possible place and hoses about to explode due to the 19 psi radiator cap they provide.......you'll want to find a 13 psi (0.9 Bar) radiator cap to...
Nope, it's in the body shop as we speak.
I was really hoping enough trees would fall to total it, then I could've bought it back and started cramming that 5.7L and 6-speed into the '01 :D.
If you ever get the pleasure to do the overnight trail ride from Sequatchie to Tracy City, TN…….be sure to watch out for the big hole on the right about 6 miles in :o!
I'm a finesse driver and will winch 10 out of 10 times before I opt to mat the skinny pedal and risk equipment breakage, now 20 yrs ago I can't say the same.....with age comes knowledge usually ;).
And on that particular run, we still had another 4 days, 1,000+ miles, several states and several...
We watched six different vehicles each cut a sidewall wide open on this little shelf (including the Goodyear rep vehicle), mine was the only rig that didn't cut one. I was also the only "non-professional" driver amoung the group. We were all running the brand new MTR/K tires with the heavy...
Hankook RT03 MT's - http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56629&page=4
Oh yeah, I made a mistake when I said there wasn't anything I liked about the MTR/K, they did measure a lot closer to advertised size than the KM2's do.
And here's how much your particular vehicle matters...
I have ran both and the KM2's were smoother, had less road noise, had less vibration, required considerable less weight to balance, and was as good in the rain. The KM2's definitely had better off-road performance.
I will never have another GY product on my truck, the Goodyear MTR/K were the...
I've been running CO2 in my tires (on Trailready beadlock rims) for years and the only time I have a tire drop pressure is when I intentionally air down. Mine always stay at set pressure for as long as I allow them to.
I have been a die hard BFG KM2 fan since they came out, and KM's before that, and M/T's before that. I have owned about 15 different sets of BFG M/T's over the years and have had three sets on my Tundra over the past few years. Up until a few months ago, I was adamant that the KM2's were the...
Yeah, actually it went something like "OK honey, this is only going to be a work truck, I'm not going to do a single thing to it since it has a 100k bumper-to-bumper warranty, and besides.......it's way too big to take off-road anyways" :sombrero:
Looks good.
I dealt with the same issue on my Tundra. I ended up painting all the white sheet metal behind the bumper black, then slowly over the years I trimmed and hacked stuff off until I got it looking right......it's more of a evolutionary process :D.
