I've never done this, but you'll want to verify the weight limits on the quick fists. I am guessing that those are static-load weight limits, not dynamic. If you're in an accident or have to stop suddenly, the kinetic energy stored in the shafts while in motion will be much greater than when...

Don't worry about the pricing on the D200...just keep it. It's still a great camera that should last you for many more years. I too almost bought another one at $600. But I'm really trying to save for a full-frame camera that I hope will last a long time for me, regardless of what Brad says ;)...

For overlanding, I would disagree. Even before I added the ARB locker in the front, I was surprised how far you could go with decent tires and the rear LSD, even with lifting wheels both front and rear. Now with the locker up front and judicious use of the handbrake to increase rear traction...

I agree with you on the LCD not being sharp enough to use for focussing. Macro use was what I thought about too, but you're right that it probably wouldn't prove that useful. I already have the lenses...now I'm looking to get back to full-frame. I can't stand the 12-24 lenses for landscape...
