When they rebuild a trans they put in new steels & clutches, rubbers & seals, inspect the hard parts & test solenoids, maybe put in a reman torque convertor.
Hard parts (planetary gears) & pumps get changed if needed. When it leaves the shop they are gambling it will last out the warranty.
That is not a "PCM" it is an electronic ignition control module (around $30) and it is nowhere near your left foot in the cab as people where stating in earlier posts.
Electronic ignition control boxes were around since the early 70's. Computer controlled ecm, pcm - etc started in 80 1/2 GM...
So you blast the horn to scare off the bear, the bear takes off, kids come running back and intercept bear? Next you whip out the .357 and shoot the bear to piss it off or ???
