just a thought. the pic of the tail lift reminds me of managing forklift operation and the desire to keep tines as close to the ground as possible while moving. I wouldn't like to be the pedestrian hit by the tail lift as the vehicle turned, or be in the car that drove under it.

if they aren't sealed then add water to cover the battery plates. That may give you enough power to start. Check voltage before and with engine running.

there's the out of balance around the circumference, which beads are good at compensating, and there's the out of balance across the wheel (with normal balancing different weights may be added to inside than outside of rim), which beads are not quite so good at and may be what is contributing...

just in case .............. while its easy to change from 2wd to 4wd while moving don't attempt to change from hi to lo while moving. Those wires may be either changeover or just sensors to indicate state.

another use for the screwdriver is to place the sharp end on parts of the engine (like rocker cover) and the other end against the bone in front of ear. Works like a low tech stethoscope.

not sure about your 2012. On my 2005 there are two wires with connectors, labeled "Diag Check" and "Mem Clear". Various combinations of disconnecting those wires show current code, last 5 codes by blinking the red engine light, and clear codes.
