Not So Subtle E350 Shuttle - 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

It makes a HUGE difference. I'll detail it a bit more further down but Rattletrap makes a bigger difference than the MLV but they all help. I ordered some mass loaded vinyl off Amazon and what came was not what MG had suggested I get. I tried ordering the VB4 MLV from the place MG specified -...

Yes, I know that's the great advantage of a newer vehicle. That and mileage. Of course it's an apples and watermelons comparison... Nonetheless you've set a bar for which I'll try to aim. Okay, the other day we managed to get the full interior stripped out down to the steel. We cleaned it and...

Yes, I’ve heard that too. I did a lot or research and most of that 25% coverage is directed at doors and panels in regards to car stereo installation. I think that the more you cover the more the sound is attenuated but perhaps at a rate of diminishing returns. I’ve opted for 100% coverage -...

Not So Subtle E350 Shuttle - 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

Okay, I promised some action on the interior. Here we go. I'm in the middle of trying to make some major changes in my life/career and one of the things that I'm working to resolve is a way too crowded shop. It's next to impossible to work as it's so crowded with motorcycles so I'm starting...

Actually I haven't gotten it to work yet. We thought it was most likely a bad seal in the hubs and I just waited until I replaced the hubs which Josh did a few weeks back and that didn't get them working. As soon as MG is done with his TX vans I'm going to have him take a look at it. Perhaps he...

You forced me to break out the tools. Nope, it doesn’t offset it in any significant way. Gregor

Sorry I missed this. All you have to do is cut the two lead sensor wire. Not sure what the type of pickup is but there's no polarity to it so just cut it and solder in as much wire as you need. I've heard that people have extended them 20' or so but I added about 10' in case I wanted to move it...

I knew I’d get **** for that. I have to to say that I absolutely love the van and find the sound of the 7.3 really comforting. It’s idle just says “road trip” to me. It sounds infinite. Just a louder version...

Colorado Camper Van Review (CCV)- Buyer Beware

I've done some wheeling in my van so far - nothing too stupid but with plenty of opportunity for body flex especially in Colorado when we did a few passes. My high top is still perfectly water tight and having opened up the back and seen the seal from the inside and the outside I'm not too...

Uh, yeah, no... No idea other than maybe they can make more money since it would be replaced more often? They are identical so it makes no sense. Considering how much tighter the van is up front now I'm very interested in doing the other doors in back. Plus the other doors I know to be empty...

I'm beginning to learn that... Although! Here's one that wasn't too bad. The door seals were getting a bit ratty. The doors still shut fine but they didn't seem "tight" although they weren't leaking or anything. There are inner and outer and they are left and right handed. The inside...

Like most of the projects in my life I think they'll be relatively simple and they end up turning out to be way more complex than I anticipate. This tends to have two results; one is that I tend to take on more ambitious projects than the average person might and two, is that I tend to take way...

Buy a Transit... I'm not cool, what would I do with one of those? Drive it? I mean, how often are you working on it? Never probably. Have you seen my house? My garage? I am not a person who gets things that don't need work. I wish I was. But I'm not. This van is a project among many. Plus...

Quick update as I'm about to start a small next project for the van and could use advice from others who may have been down the road before. The point of this van was to replace my pickup with something more secure, more capable and of course more awesome. It's done that now on all fronts. In...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

I like coming to visit this thread but I haven't had time to work on my van this fall. The van was regeared to run 4:10's and pulls our Avion very well. I was very surprised how well it did with our ice storm over the Christmas holiday. I'm really looking forward to heading up to snow country...

I've been working a lot on the house after the busy fall. One thing I wanted to do was take a little personal time and do some riding with my friend Ben. Months ago we signed up for the Jimmy Lewis Offroad school so we loaded up the bikes and drove out in the rain to Parumph, NV. I took out...

    Move Bumpers

Curious if you got the bumpers. I've been thinking of this for a while as a way of making a bumper and then fabricating a rear tire mount as part of the process. Keep us up to date. Gregor

Fiberglass Molding and Engineering Hightop Review

I'm always surprised by the fact that these sort of stories make the rounds every few years. I had a similar experience with an engine builder once. After 8 months I went public and it still took another three months of apologies to get my engine. Like you I was exceedingly patient. It's as if...

It's worth it. I feel claustrophobic now when I'm in a normal house with the low ceilings. I also feel very small when I drive a car now. I've gotten used to being 7' off the ground. G
