By all means take the older kids. They might not like it now but it will give them a totally different perspective as they grow up and make them realize there is more to life. Make sure the rig is in good mechanical repair. Good tires and a patch kit are probably the most important things to...
What size is the bolt pattern? To me and some other older Jeep guys it would be 5 on 5.5 but they look a little smaller, maybe 5 on 4.5 or even 5 on 5.
Sweet. I moved up here almost three years ago, currently working in ND two weeks at a time. You will like ID, it's nice having 4 seasons. Which shop do you have in Hayden? I worked at Tom Addis for almost two years.
Its not just the size either. Wonder how much the thing weighs. I know there will be quite a few bridges he won't be able to cross in other countries, heck even here in the US there will be some he can't cross.
Its on craigslist too. Think the asking price is 19k. Would make a nice set up for a flatbed and who ever buys it will be saving some money over buying new.
Sounds like you have done your research. If plans call for any rough roads, which I hope they do, I would rather have just leaf springs in the front with no blocks. If Freightliner offered blocks in the front and you use Freightliner parts to do the lift then you have nothing to worry about...
To me that ambulance doesn't look 12' tall, I would say more like 8-9' range.
You don't plan on using 3" blocks to lift the front do you? Lift blocks and front leaf springs don't go so well together.
When you take some trips with it I would like to hear some feedback on how the 4.0 works in this vehicle. Also any cooling issues experienced. Very drool worthy build.
