Frank(mongosd2) runs 35s. I will be too once I get a front diff.
Toy swap is good up to 37s I think.
Longfields, gbr, rover tracks axles I think are capable up to 35. Could be wrong.

Check your gaskets, if theynare designed for diesel which most are, putting gasoline in will expand the gasket and cause leakage.
I have run the diesel gaskets while storing gas but made sure that the gas never touches the gaskets. Ok for a short term fix
I'm on my second smittybilt, my first lasted less than a year with less than a dozen pulls on it. Going through 4wheelparts for a replacement under warranty wasn't an easy process but I attribute that to the manager who was more interested in looking out the window and realizing I don't drive a...
Chazz, I'm at 3.5" and will be adding a spacer in the future. Didn't upgrade shafts just yet. The costs do it right are pretty large, radius arms, double cardan the rear, you need new brake lines and abs over 2"(can reroute at 2" lift). My angles are starting to get a bit hairy as well. How are...
You get a little bit of chirping and some grinding, but a lot of owners ignore the sounds. Soon thereafter you get a loud BANG, THUD, GUSH. Usually followed by ATF on the ground and the two transmission lights on your dash.
Agree with chazz
My List in Random order:
Other than the mechanical stuff:
1) Rebuild stock driveshaft with unserviceable u joints to greasable style ujoints (Neapco/PDQ) and centering ball kit
2) Remove stock thermostat and octopus hose and replace with inline style thermostat
3) OME or...
Ok, I will concede, but I think the excess heat although not the primary cause for ujoint failure definitely accelerates ujoint failure.
Agree/disagree?

Mike,
I hear you, I have just read and I am trying to find the Spicer article that mentions that a sealed(non greasable) unit outperforms a greasable unit if the greasable unit is not serviced. Talks about the seals in the nongreasable being slightly better and obviously much lower chance of...
To the OP, good luck with the sale, nice customizations.
To the idea of adding $20k to make it a solid axle and mechanical t-case. Thats a great ROI and a really smart investment since you can buy a truck that already has that for under 5k - think D1.

If they were unsealed u-joints, how many rover owners would have them greased every 5k miles? I don't see a lot of soccer mom pulling up to the local jiffy-lube to make sure grease gets flushed through the 4 uj seals.
The engineers were between a rock and a hard place, put sealed units in and...
