When you mount the receiver tube leave the pin hole exposed.
I put mine behind the rear frame rail and at times it is a pain to put the pin in.
My 116A2 I left it exposed and liked it better.
My helpers are too short and not strong enough to lift my Grumman 19' canoe onto the roof of the truck.
with a 6 .5 foot bed there is no way to haul it in the bed. I took an old jet ski trailer and made racks for the canoe.
Makes me use the canoe more now and I can load it by myself too.
FandL nice tear down pictures.
That trailer looks food for sitting in the woods for so many years without cover.
Are you keeping the original lunette?
$350.00 is a great deal " even better for a M101A2 or A3.

Fab up one that uses two 1 1/4" hitch receivers that are welded to the frame.
Pull the hitch pins and take it off for ground clearance.
I would use the original tongue, spring assembly and axle and then mounting the tub where I wish.
The frame is a simple ladder frame.
This would be a simple, relatively cheap project. " just the steel for a new frame and fab time.
Mount the moto rails to the front of the tub.
A M101A2 or M105 military trailer with extended frame to the front and two Moto rails with tie downs.
They are cheap, stout and would work well behind the MOG.
