That is a nice start. Will it be wide enough for you.

I would say it is strong enough for two average sized people. I would bolt it to the bed tails to keep it from spreading from the weight. There is only a small cross brace above the door on the rear.

I am cheap. I use a recycled piece of indoor/outdoor black carpet that was removed from my front porch.
