Not mine, no affiliation - entertaining vehicle, though. $4400, in a Phoenix area Craigslist ad, also duplicated text with lots o' pics in this Flickr page for when the Craigslist one expires. The fan shroud is made out of license plates?

1978 "Phoenix: VW-Based Van That Expands Tent-Trailer Style"

Blast from the past that originally appeared in the March '78 Popular Mechanics magazine. Reprinted plans available at the RQ Riley link here. Not into such tent campers myself, so I may have missed it, but I don't think I've seen this style of tent truck/van here....

'69 Land Rover Forward Loader Over Lander 4x4 motorhome

Did as thorough a search as I could through the LR forum, couldn't find an example of these already posted. This is from the Sedgefield Classic Cars 'sold' gallery, something I stumbled into while google searching the planet for mangy old GM 4x4 'motorhomes'...

Well, I ran across this classified ad in the Sunday AZ...

The error of my ways / good mpg 4x4 Motorhome-in-a-phonebooth concept

Here's where I went wrong: my parents had RVs devoted exclusively to vacationing, after college the most I could afford was tent camping out of my hatchback, and when I finally got extra money a few years ago I bought the first small-ish 4x4 pure RV I could find that was really snazzy. Well...

    Dodge minivan camper

My daily driver / camping vehicle for the past 13 years has been a VW hatchback. Naturally, the one teensy little irritant about my Chalet is that it is so........ wide. I continually overestimate where the passenger side is. And there's acres of hood to look across, so much that I can't see the...
