A bit confused here. Are you saying the winch should be wired to both batteries? There are lots of us with dual batteries that only wire the winch to one battery. In my case I have the option of bridging the batteries to winch or jump, etc but I know of a lot of people that only wire to one...

You can do it with less gear if you run the cable under your rig instead of on the side as well. -Sam

The tree behind the vehicle is the fixed object, thus the vehicle is getting winched toward that object. The pulley blocks on the side just redirect the direction of the line they are not involved in pulling. -Sam

I use one of each. I have a fuse box with negative buss underhood and a junction box in the rear cargo area. The junction box is fed by 2ga wire that is fused less than a foot away from the battery. Coming off this are 3 8ga wires. One to power inverter, one to OBA, on to locking cigarette...

Put dielectric grease on the contacts and silicon spray the solenoid. Be careful how you do this and make sure it is recommended on your solenoid. Ive been through 3-4 winches in the past 4 yrs -Sam
