Guys,
Doing a 120k mile service on a 98 4runner and wanted to know if there was a shopping list or any info available on what all needs to be done?
Is there a mobil1 or k&n oil filter recommended or stick to stock? How much gear oil is needed? Anything special to service? Tranny filter? Fuel...
Winches are not to be installed on side terminals or the smaller top terminals. Yes people do it but it's not recommended by the manufacture. Potential fire hazard is often stated by manufacturer.

Use the gear pulled to pull hubs(3 tooth), use a hammer to remove rotors. Try it. It's liberating.
Those rotors are thick(I'm guessing you took a caliper to measure if they are within spec). A couple forceful blows won't damage anything. Don't be afraid.

I just realized something...
You have remove the caliper and caliper mounting bracket already right? 13mm 6pt and 18mm 12pt respectively.
On reinstall, do not use antiseize on either bolts, use brake boot grease for the caliper guide pins and use blue loctite on the caliper mounting bolts. If...
Use a hammer on the back side of the rotor. It will come off.
I used a rubber mallet and it came off after some time. Hammer works much better and faster. You swinging a hammer on a rotor that you are removing anyway is fine.
Apply a little antiseize to the new rotor where it mates with...
I hear you on the weird looks. I get lots of weird looks getting out of my truck. I have a fund that I manage and own a side business. Those of you on here that know me know how odd I look to be driving a lifted rover. Let alone wearing a 3 piece suit and French cuffs everyday.

Did you remove the rotor retaining screw? It's a #4 screwdriver bit that you need.
Take a mallet or a normal hammer and tap on the back of the rotor, turn a bit, tap again, they will slowly come out. Just need to use some force.

Thanks a lot!
If the hood blackout is $30 then I'd do the vinyl. Otherwise I will do the rattle can. My fear is getting the lines and shape correct.

12mpg is pretty bad. I get 15 with the big tires and far better(18ish) with the stock 28s. Then again I don't have a lead foot in the disco, coast a lot and am smart about the way I drive.
I often get criticized for driving like a granny in the disco and driving let I want to die in the race...
Installed iPod/sat radio/new cb radio this weekend(post pics soon).
Some of the LR discos have fold down headrests by the tailgate for third row seats. I installed speakers in mine that when folded down point directly out of the tailgate. Excellent for camp speakers!
