Ive never had a Samurai before, but I REALLY want one. I would go with the Sami if you are going solo and you think your 80 would be too much of a pain. You know your vehicles so you know which one you would be more comfortable in. Some folks might tell you a Samurai is too small for a long term...
I built a 14' canoe using the plywood/ fiberglass stitch and glue method http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16902&highlight=pirogue. It turned out very well, and has held up to the elements. I am planning on using the same method when I build my camper. I am going to sandwich...
I have never actually done it, but supposedly you insert a stylette into the airway part of the King down into the trachea. Then you remove the King while leaving the stylette (spelling?) in place. Now your stylette is in the trachea and you simply slide an ET tube down the stylette into the airway.
Wake County is very progressive, sometimes maybe too progressive (Advanced Practice Paramedic, cough cough). I really learned a lot about improving cardiac arrest save rates though. I will be modeling my codes after their protocols.
That last code we had I watched our paramedics get so focused...
I hear you, Im counting them down as well.
A chaotic code IS definitely great practice to see what not to do next time. I have been fortunate and have had a lot of codes at work and have been able to see what I want to do different when I am in control. Our class had Dr. Brent Myers of Wake...
We have a lot of diabetics around our district who dont take care of themselves. I kind of like going to them though because we usually know who the person is and what their background is like. It is one of the kinds of calls where you can go there, do your thing, and really see some results...
If it were me I would role with 315/75r16. I have a 1500 and that is the tire size I plan on eventually running. I know some would say go narrower but a suburban is a big heavy beast. I like the 35 12.50 tire size for big heavy stuff.
Any SUV I run always will have a swing out carrier. Ive done it other ways and that is the best for me. If the carrier has an easy release on it, it has never been a big deal to get to the rear cargo area. An extra 2 seconds, thats it. I dont run roof racks around here because most trails are...
Good question. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has had issues with this. I would think that with the big heavy units some problems might come into play.
I keep going back and forth on the cabover thing. I was originally planning on building a full-height cabover but then decided...
X2 on the craigslist option. You can find some nice bikes on there. Unless you are an extremly serious biker there is no need to spend a fortune on a bike. Find a good quality bike used, for a good price.
Wow, I grew up riding freestyle bikes and I thought WE were crazy. I started mountain biking to "tone it down". Got to give you props on that one.
My name is Jason and I ride an oldschool Cannondale Killer V.
Honestly I have never used the cleaning tablets, and I have had mine for a couple years. I have always just washed it out with soap and water. If I had just been using it for a couple hours and then wanted to fill it back up I just filled it back up without washing. I wouldnt do that a lot of...
Another idea I am kicking around for the construction is to make structurally insulated panel style walls. Using something like 2" thick foam insulation and sandwiching it between 2 pieces of 1/4" plywood. Then fiberglass the exterior surface. Most of the 2" foam I have been looking at has an...
North Carolina will probably be there shortly. We are having update everything to the national standard this year anyway. I understand the basis for nationalizing everything, but I am always hesitant with any type of national requirement over state requirement. The mindset is more political than...
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Hard sided and in the back corner. The interior shot on my earlier post shows the shower in the back, and the bed in the front.
