My New Build: 1990 3-Door Nissan Patrol, 4.2, Diesel

The floor is insulated with foam and on top of the insulation is that sort of sticky/wool type fabric you normally see in some of the rear drawer builds. On top of the fabric is all-weather matting and then some wannabe husky all-weather floor mats.

Final day of our 12-day tour rests in Antigua, Guatemala. The Shorty broke a CV joint in Peten pulling the FJ out. I also bent my tie rod and had some minor aesthetics damage, but overall the new mods on the Shorty performed exactly like I had anticipated. The FJ suffered a lot more body damage...

Looking for the right overland vehicle and set up for me. Keepin' it cheap

If you are planning for international expo I would stick to Toyota or Nissan. Spare parts for lesser common vehicles, such as Chevy, Jeep or Ford, will be more expensive and harder to find. In Guatemala, US-brands are considered luxury vehicles so you will pay a premium for their service and...

I'm getting ready for my third trip back to the Mayan jungle in Peten. This past May I took my father to see the archeological sites, which never disappoint, but the only bummer for me was that the trails were bone dry. That is not going to be the case on this trip. My buddy tells me the trails...

    STT Pro or ST Maxx????

I'm running the Pros 35x12.50R15 in the Shorty. They have excellent grip. In the couple of times I've taken them on the trail I've been impressed with them, and I wheel all the time. I'll be heading to Peten in a couple of weeks where I will really get a chance to test them out in the mud...

Yes, it does. It will take some time getting used to. I can't wait to really test out the gull wings in a couple of weeks. I'll be heading back into the Mayan jungle for about 10 days, so all the new mods will be put to good use. It's been raining a lot up in the Peten and I am estimating the...

My New Build: 1990 3-Door Nissan Patrol, 4.2, Diesel

Thanks! In the photos, the color of the Shorty comes out a lot more yellow than it really is. In person it's a lighter shade of yellow and in between a sandstorm. I wanted it in between that safari beige and the Camel Trophy khaki. The handle I believe was taken off a Yota or other type of...
