I am selling my 2016 Limited (Barcelona Red with Sand Beige leather interior) after just a year. I realized that I don't have time to explore and I spend most of my time up and down the highway for work, so I will be transitioning to a Lexus GX 460.
The rig is in excellent shape (less one...
All,
I know it's terrible that I'm even asking about this, but I need to get recommendations for a satellite based e-mail service. I am lucky enough to have pulled a permit for a Grand Canyon raft trip and will be out of touch for two weeks -- unfortunately, too long for me to ignore my e-mail...
I spent a bunch of winters living in Montana, where it regularly hits thirty below at night. My first few years, I didn't have a block heater and I didn't have too many problems starting up. Definitely weakened my battery on the coldest nights. A few years later I did get a block heater and the...
By way of background, I grew up in rural GA and routinely pulled people out of ditches on the dirt roads when it rained. And now that I live in UT, I typically stop if someone slides off in the snow. That's who I am and that's how I was raised. Attending law school has not changed my opinion...
I've got a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport-Trac that is in need of some new shoes. It has the stock 4.0 V6, 4.11 gearing, and I'll be running stock alloy wheels.
I am pretty well sold on the Duratracs -- we live in Montana and these will be three season tires (we swap to Blizzaks for the winter...

Thinking of pulling the trigger on these, so any advice is appreciated.
I've had great experience with the Patagonia down sweater. I was a ski instructor in Montana the last decade or so, and myself and a number of my friends have them and use them every day of the winter. Super warm, easy to use as a mid-layer, super light and super packable...
I am looking for a fabricator in the SLC area to build a few skid plates for my Explorer Sport-Trac. Specifically, I am looking to get a radiator skid / winch mount combo going and something for the gas tank. All advice is appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks for the insight. I had a receiver mount winch in the past but I was always a little nervous of heavier pulls, especially those that were off center. Did you ever have any issues bending the receiver mount or hitch itself?
Anyone done a hidden winch mount between the frame rails of a Ford Ranger / Sport Trac? I need to complete some measurements, but it looks like things will work with a custom mount plate...
