In San Diego the head of SANDAG is driven around in a petrol car with a driver. He wants to spend $150 billion in 30 years for public transportation. How about filling potholes, fixing sidewalks repaving surface streets, redoing crosswalks first and widening the freeways for traffic first.
Bean and cheese tostadas. Heat a can of refried's up and heat the tostada shells in a covered nonstick skillet. Add lettuce, cheese guacamole and salsa. Maybe a half hour prep max. Very quick after a long day's driving.
I'm 6'4" and can easily hop into an older Ranger. The increase in windshield rake doesn't make for much entrance height. I know a guy who's work F-150 was taken and replaced with a Ranger. He hits his head all the time and he's 5'10" tall.
I've seen a 2000 Superduty's front rails bowed out from a 1/2 cabover Callen. He beat the truck up pretty good in Baja. I had one on a 1998 F-150 with one of their 10K # racks. No issues but only a couple of Baja runs on lightweight roads.
Find a used Northstar TC800 longbed model. Mine was born on a 2nd gen and has resided on my present truck since '06.
It's been very reliable and sturdy. Next a manual Happijac tiedown system.
I drove a Hino tilt cab with an 18' box for 10 years and 240K. In all that time it ate a water pump, ignition key tumbler, driver's side key slot. That's all I can remember. Normal wear items. 4 speed Allison and a four cylinder turbo powered diesel. Most reliable vehicle I ever driven.
