Speaking of research a few of my big remaining questions. We live in Northern CA.
Necessity of having a second battery?
Right now I have the 6" vent recommended by Treeline for Norcal Teardrops vice the 14". The 14" is a pretty big fan and requires a mod to the SCT roof rack. Seems like the...
I went with a tray to allow the PS to fit in my existing bags, etc. and I didn't want to permanently attach anything to the PS (personal preference). I can have these trays produced if anyone is interested. The tray is the size of a 2 IGT insert.
Honu's setup is nice too!
Trying to figure out where to mount the Aluminum rails. Specifically, do the female welt extrusions go closest to the outside or on the inside. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.
As you can see by my recent posts I am still on the fence! The long build time gives us plenty of time to think through it. Still lots of questions and this thread has been very informative.
I thought that looked like a torsion axle. We plan on the same kind of use and decided to go with the same arrangement.

The hot water system looks good but do I want the "box' on the side, do you have to manually...
Not on their website. Tom recommended the Mr Heater Aquacube. Agree good to keep weight low. I only carry 2 Scepter water cans that are enough for us. I was trying to minimize the holes in the cabin.

Treeline highly recommended go with an aqua cube instead of the permanently mounted hot water and favored tongue water storage that might not be as much but is much easier to maintain, etc., not to mention the weight.

Long story but we do not plan on doing any off-road with it. We are upgrading to solar with 2 batteries and a few other items. We wanted the full bathroom, counter space in the galley and liked the 7'3" width. Lighter and a lot less than the Flying Cloud. Probably not comparable to the Ollie...
I have a March 2016 build date spot ($1500 deposit) for Treeline Teardrops in Petaluma, CA if anyone is interested in taking our spot. Tom currently has orders out through June. We had a change in plans. PM if interested.
