I do. I care about the Grenadier. And Defender. Bronco is fantastic for what it is, but its 1370 lb payload is only marginally better than Wrangler's. Both are weekender recreation trucks; neither are tourers designed to carry heavy loads like Defender, Grenadier (or old Land Cruisers or...

    Northern Explorer's 2017 F250 Build

Nice set up. I really like the F-250 for all of the reasons you state in your first video. It's all business. How is the ride quality on bumpy dirt roads?

I think the most analogous comparison would be a Land Cruiser 76 workmate, which in Australia retails for around the equivalent of $48K USD. Here are a few articles that I found on the B58 engines. As @Shovel observed with past BMW motors, the B58 isn't immune to problems with gaskets, which...

    INEOS Grenadier

I agree, 40s USD for a moderately spec'd Grenadier would be a superb price. They're doing this right. I want to learn more about the engine and how they'll address dealer service stateside, but, presuming those boxes check, Grenadier may well replace or supplement my 80 series after three...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Yeah, I saw that. I was speaking more to Land Rover's abrupt departure from utility vehicles and Defender's design heritage; the resulting gap is so wide that it's left room for a new company benoeming that loss to step in, modernize, and fill it. But to be fair, that gap isn't just Land...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

I'm fascinated that Land Rover ceded Defender's design heritage to Grenadier. It's like voluntary identify theft. While new Defender is a remarkable design that stands on its own, it's obvious that Grenadier will be the vehicle that carries forward old Defender's design heritage.

Well, I love it. I like the utilitarian design language--it's a softened, updated Defender 110; its sloped nose hints at a Mercedes G300. Moreso I like their whole back-to-basics approach to modernizing the utility wagon--beam axles, coil springs, barn doors, steelies, and so on. They...

    INEOS Grenadier

I really like the new Defender, and I think Land Rover deserves immense credit for bringing such a uniquely capable vehicle to market. And without taking away any of that, it's also obvious that Grenadier is continuing a design heritage that Land Rover chose to cede. Pub debates about this...

    INEOS Grenadier

At first blush... I love it. It's beautiful and utilitarian. Its design language suggests an updated and slightly softened Defender 110, and a hint of G300 in the sloping nose. More important are the fundamentals--a purposeful, capable, body-on-frame, beam-axled, barn-doored modern utility...

It's notable too that Toyota will bat last with the 300, or their rumored back-to-basics offering (of course, we'll see) on the heels of the all of these new wagon offerings. I'm interested to see Bronco's trail vs. touring positioning relative to Defender and JLU. I expect it'll have good...

You are clearly upset, and should perhaps cool down before posting. Some of us are actually interested in Defender as a remote touring vehicle, and recognize the unique combination of capabilities that it brings to market. But we also harbor concerns about things like reliability, which is an...

Perhaps you could just censor posts that violate rules. There's value to being able to fairly discuss Defender's potential shortcomings, like reliability. This is the place for that. Shutting this thread will only push that discussion onto others, like the New Defender News, which will upset...
