I was asking the manufacturer to see how they responded to my inquiry. I honestly didn’t expect a legit answer. I knew it was a shot in the dark but at the time it was the middle of February and snow was preventing me from getting out too much so it was time to do that offseason research.
I’ve...
Yeah, I’m pretty new. Only been doing this for about 8 or 9 years. Last time I counted, I had 55 unique “trails” in CO (many of which Ive done several times) and about a dozen in Utah (again, many done a few times). Still learning new things every outing.
However- “trails” in CO are really...
What prompted me to contact Cooper was because last summer I was finishing up a trip around the Alpine Loop and Black Bear Pass and I noticed this gash in my sidewall while airing up in Telluride:
I was aired down for all my “off pavement” driving (in CO, you aren’t really offroading since all...
Just stop before everyone realizes how ignorant you are. There might be a few that haven't caught on yet.
I knew it was going to be a fishing operation to get any info out of Cooper- especially thru the website link. I debated posting the interaction in this section or whatever section you...
^I’ve seen that video. The YouTube account for it seems to indicate that it’s their Australian division that put out that video. Don’t know if it matters.
Awhile ago I emailed the “contact us” on the Cooper Tire website and asked the following
This is the reply I got from the Consumer Relations Department:
Not happy with that boilerplate reply, I replied with this:
Here’s her response to that:
So, there you have it. According to Cooper...
Well the my axle guy said he won’t touch a GM IFS axle. He says it’s a clam shell style where for every adjustment, the axle needs to be split in half to make the adjustment. It’s a tedious process that he doesn’t want any part of. He turns down GM IFS work all the time because of it.
Yes- it’s for both axles.
And the gearing change might be offset by your tire size increase. Your larger tires should be causing you to read slow now. The deeper gears will make you read fast. 4.10s might put you make to even. Maybe.
How will you know when that comes? After how many transmissions do you throw in the towel? What about if the water pump goes out? Needs new brakes? Needs new tires? Where do you draw the line?
Some of those are offered in jest, but like you I’ve got an old vehicle (2 actually). My...
$850 plus new bearings. I know a guy outside the Springs who does this kind of thing for a living. He regeared my Explorer and considering having my Expedition done as well.
You won’t get much a return on your newly purchased $3500 transmission if you decide to sell. A 2004 Suburban with a new...
I am not surprised to hear that your Chevy transmission went out (again). That’s just what they do.
I’m am however, surprised to hear that Suburbans have odometers. I thought they just had transmission counters. You own a 2004 Chevy that’s on its 3rd transmission (that you know of). From there...
Hawk LTS (if they still make them).
Had a set of EBC Orangestuffs on my Expedition. Very dusty but great grip. Didn’t last cery long- maybe 25k miles. Tend to be squeaky and needed to have the anti squeal putty applied midway through.
Currently running EBC Yellowstuff. So far I like them...
Yes it is. The owners have recently redone the exterior and put a fence around the yard. Too many people coming by and throwing pizzas on the roof.
It’s Morgan’s apartment from the Walking Dead.
