Okay I now have the same setup. Ryobi Impact Wrench and Driver. Overall, a great system and relatively light weigh with the Lithium batteries.

Leaning toward the Ryobi due to small size, ease of finding parts and overall performance for what I intend to use it for.

Being able to easily find batteries at Home Depot is definitely nice. Some batteries are very hard to find.

These are all great ideas but it appears although InReach uses Iridium, it is still not an Apple product and needs a lot more work.

I am also considering the Ryobi! Unfortunately I only have one other Makita cordless drill so I am essentially starting new. I do like their in vehicle Li charger.

Iridium is a much better way to go! I'm in once Delorme comes out with an iOS version.

Based on all this great advice I am going with either a 6' MFJ 1918 tripod or a buddipole tripod/mast. Much easier to mount on the 1918 with u bolts. Not sure of the mounting on the Buddipole mast that has a .5" male NPT fitting on the end?
