Anyone here have a RAM 1500 EcoDiesel?

Unless something changed in the last two years since I bought mine, ram 2500 gives you under 2500# payload unless you go with regular cab 2 wheel drive. My '12 4x4 crew cab shortbed has around 2400#, you do lose a lot with the crew cab, I wish ram made an extended cab Sent from my Passport...

    4WheelResto

Thanks for the update, I figure direct exposure to salt water has to be way worse than just normal exposure, my concern for SS screws in Al is now minor Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk 2

    Welder,

I did buy an aluminum spool gun for my 181, but have not tried it. My opinion on the Fabricator mostly comes from friends and online. I sold my big Miller Mig and Econo Tig to get the 181 as I really didn't need a huge Mig machine Any more and wanted the room. Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk 2

    Welder,

I second the Tweco Fabricator line if you get a 211, it's 110 or 220v, but it's $1200 vice $799 for the 181 ( 220v only) when you buy a 181 or bigger they give a coupon for a nice electronic weld mask. These welders are gas mig, stick and DC Tig ( no aluminum) Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk 2

    Flippac torsion bar

I'm surprised about two things,1) that people still shell out thousands for a new Flippac, and 2) the manufacturer does not get a new source and mark up the price if needed. I'm sure most people would rather pay an extra couple hundred up front so they would not have to worry about failure. It...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

I have enjoyed your thread, thanks for posting. I have been building/ restoring my Alaskan for a year and a half now and get the same reaction from my friends. People don't understand how long it takes to build something around full time jobs, school, family ect.

Electrical connection between truck and camper for lights

I was thinking of using those connectors on my camper so I could keep my batteries in the wheel wells, but changed my mind, I my still use them like you did, thanks for the pics

It might be ridiculous! But can I cut 17 inches off my Palomino Truck Camper Pop-up?

Like Doctorit said, it looks to me like the end of the camper and your bumper are both in the same line down to the rear wheel, so the camper is not really affecting the angle that much, but the picture is not the best to determine that.

Thanks for the pics, I need to get started on sealing my Alaskan, there are many linear feet of tape required!

Electrical connection between truck and camper for lights

Thanks, I checked it out, looks like it would be fine for just the lights

Electrical connection between truck and camper for lights

So it's hard wired to the camper side? My Alaskan had plugs on both ends

Electrical connection between truck and camper for lights

What do modern campers have on the camper side of the cable that runs from the truck 7 or flat four connector for powering the marker lights etc? My Alaskan had an old round 4 prong plug. Thanks
