There already is a ground in the 7 pin. I ran the separate ground (and power) from the battery I mounted on the trailer to the Blue Sea fuse block in the main compartment. All my interior box lights, USB outlets and 12v outlets are wired to it.
You would need an adapter to convert 5x5 to the bolt pattern the Ram 1500 uses. If its the same then nothing. I purchased my adapters for around $50 and had zero issues with them.
Nice!!! Can't wait to see it. I pulled all the electrical out of my tongue box and plan to redo the whole setup this Winter. I have all the new gear just struggling with making it all fit in the way I want. And yes, solar is also going to be added. Bought a 100 watt and a 50 watt panel, not...
Thanks for the info. I used to build speaker boxes WAY back in the day and used cotton fabric as the base, same principle I believe. The cotton just gave the shape for the fiberglass and resin to adhere to, same for the cardboard. Out of curiosity, how much will the carbon fiber material run...
I tried the going to FB and searching on the words you posted. I got a single thing and when I clicked on it I got this. :) Sorry.. I'm impressed and still laughing.
Well since its $300 and you would need to modify it to hold a tire.. and not designed for a tire, I would look for other options that utilize more than one mounting point. Might hold a tire once modified in a single point, but its a single point of failure. IMHO I would not do it.
Nice man! I was thinking of doing the same and cutting off the D-ring mounts to simplify the install... but after seeing your solution I like it better.
I had just the exact opposite customer service the few times I have called. Every time the rep on the other end of the line was very courteous, helpful and resolved my issue.
Since the front is a single piece you could do it. I'm not so sure I would reuse the SB stuff, more than likely just copy and build my own. If you don't need the space then its probably a good idea. If I was to do it I would also make the front receiver for the tongue mount about 10" longer...
I recommend the front overhang extension for longer tents. Good call. I also was going to do a home built unit and have all the gear to do so. But the one thing, like you, that was lacking was time. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. Heck I still have a water setup I need to install. One...
I reinforced the front of mine as well, my CVT Mt Rainer over hung the front about 2' and that is the spot my heavy butt was sleeping. i figured it would be better to do it before it started sagging.
