After 8 years in a full size, moving back to a mid-size - Recommendations?

If a bigger camper is in your future I would def stay full size. The Expy is a good solution if you don't require the bed for anything.

    I'm BACK!!! 2023 F-250 Tremor build

Huh. I should look up and see if that would work on my F150. Kinda seemed like wasted space back there. This is a neat solution for easy access. Have you had the Tremor out for any off pavement exploring yet?

It took 5 months for my F150. Does that timeline include the AEV conversion? If so that's not too bad....

    Help Finding F-150 HDPP

Not sure on weight. If I had to guess 5.0L may be lighter? But that's a guess.... Have a look through these payload / build sheet pictures. It's handy because a lot of people also posted their window stickers. So it'll give you an idea what kind of payload to expect with trucks optioned a...

    Help Finding F-150 HDPP

If you're good with an extended cab and don't need all the froo froo options, aN F150 XLT extended cab 6.5" box with the 300a or 301a option should get you in that range. I was at 1,850lb payload on this truck: 301a and sport pkg, 5.0L and FX4. So still had buckets, console and power driver...

Turns out I need a real truck. Kindly help me choose one!

Guessing cause they went with a 3.5 Twin Turbo V6 and a 10 speed transmission. So 3:31 would probably work well for most. But I wanted the extra grunt for towing.... Max Tow came with 3:55. If I had went with a PowerBoost I believe it would've been 3:73's. Pretty sure HDPP F150's also have...

Is A Baby FJ Type Cruiser Really Headed To N.A.?

Neat. But kinda seems redundant with the Rav already in the lineup. Same could be said with Bronco sport and Escape. I foresee the Escape being repositioned or canceled.

Turns out I need a real truck. Kindly help me choose one!

They are nice trucks. But in the end the F150 just offered more of what I need to use a truck for. Tundras only came with 3:31 axle ratio. No Max Tow option. No bed entry steps Had to go w/ platinum to get Tow Mirrors (?) No front tow hooks, lol And Toyota was going to charge $8 per month after...

Turns out I need a real truck. Kindly help me choose one!

I get that. I probably researched trucks for 6 months before I ordered mine. I was all set to go on a '22 Tundra. Had a an incoming Lunar Rock SR5 TRD Off Road picked out and number all worked out with trade in etc... At the last minute decided to try out one of the new redesigned '21 F150's...

    F-150 vs F250-350 SD 1998-2003

One thing to bear in mind with that generation of F150 7700 or F250 is the 7 lug wheels. If anything happens to one, it may be tough to find a replacement. Personally, if you are wanting to be around those years, look for a '99-'03 Super Duty. Added bonus you'd have solid axles too. (Not sure...

    Help Finding F-150 HDPP

For quite a while now I think 13 and 14th Gen HDPP extended cabs are only available with the 8' box. Out of curiosity what payload are you hoping to be around? Most of the crew cab 4x4 HDPP stickers I've seen are around the 2,200 lbs mark. These are for trucks with a couple options... See link...

90K USD??? For a Big Horn??? I thought that was a CDN build and price.... Since you're hauling vs towing I would think real hard about going gas instead of diesel. What am I missing here? How come my build using the equipment I can see on your post comes out cheaper in CDN?

Turns out I need a real truck. Kindly help me choose one!

It's the same footprint / size of truck as a 1 ton. I'd personally just get the 1 ton version of whatever make / model I was looking at. Aside from saving a grand or 2 what's the benefit of going 3/4 ton vs 1 ton. What's another grand or two when spending 75K for some extra payload insurance...
