Yeah, once i get the flippac, i wont be needing to softopper, but like Mak said, may be a while before I get the flippac (quoted 16 weeks but may be a bit more).
Lookin good! you will love that bestop, and it does work very well as a sleeping area. I have slept many nights in mine (with several feet of snow ontop in fact)

I have not used anything with my Kodiak and it has stood up just fine. Though its probably not a bad idea to use something, as stated above, the canvas would probably be my choice for noise. (Love the tent btw, just make sure you pack a few good hammers for stake driving abilities).
They do, it is how they search trains, semis, etc that cross. For major train and trucking routes they use hardmouted devices in buildings I beleive (Dont quote me though). For autos, etc, they have mobile devices. At the end of the day, the dogs will be the first to clear your tank, I wouldnt...
If you are going with electric rather than york, I HIGHLY suggest the Puma. I do not want to upset any vendors, but if you do some research on it, you will know why I suggest it.
