How much weight is this top adding? Did you need to upgrade shocks and / or coils due to the weight? :coffee:

    JK/J8 Flippac rumor??

Martyn I know with the original Flip Pac's being on trucks the wet tent may not have been an issue... However, if the weather is bad and you have to fold the wet FlipPac tent up and store it to leave... Where is all that excess water going to drain (since it will sit over an open jeep)? I am...

    OME AAL or Airlift suspension.

Are you saying that a custom airbag setup only cost 260? I'm confused? Air bags replace coils? Do you still need shocks? Do yo have to install a compressor? If you swap out air bags (if that's how they work) do you get a better ride when they aired down and more lift support when aired up...

Make that 4... I PM'ed him the same night that posted about it... but he said LJ were limited production and it would be cost prohibitive. I will take one, once the photos come out of the JK. I just want to see what the finished product will look like. :wings:

    LJ Rear Storage/Tie-Down Platform

Thanks NWOODS Hey just wanted to send a thank you to NWOODS for his post... I took your idea and built one for my LJ. Raised my floor abit so I could hid my compressor and tool box under it for security, and in case I flip over (didn't want gear hitting me in the back of the head). All parts...

Thought about getting Tacoma, then a Wrangler, now not so sure..

So first let me say that I agree, they are two different beast! Different functions, different capabilities, etc... Having said that there are vehicles that "seem” to bridge the gap. May pay dividends for you to research before buying. Check out these...

    2005 TJL Tiedown rail instalation

I could have, but I wanted the outside to still have a smooth finish... My original thought was to weld it to the inside wall, however there were two problems with that. 1. the rails are aluminum, and you can't weld two dissimilar metals. and 2. I wasn't read to repaint my Jeep yet... the heat...

    2005 TJL Tiedown rail instalation

Finished Sorry for the delay in posting... however here is the finished product. Turned out great. Things I would do different: 1. I bought this truck bedliner spray in a can and put three coats on the 2x1 angle that I used to mount the rail to... stuff scratches right off! Need to find...

    2005 TJL Tiedown rail instalation

Well, I only have a soft top and it works fine. it is inside the drip edge so it doesn't even touch the soft top. And I would imagine if I had a hard top I would just sandwich the metal between the hard top and the body and put the bolts back in. should work fine.

    2005 TJL Tiedown rail instalation

So I am still working on the install, but I have mocked up something and bolted it in. I used a 2x1 steel track from Lowes and some bolts from a fastener shop. Take a look and let me know what you think?
