At some point we’ll be selling our 17 high roof passenger 4x4 144 - converted light / convertible back to passenger. We’re building an expedition rig now. Looking for a used Sequoia now.

Temp certainly a concern but size weight etc outweighed. I have an existing battery drawer that is outside the thermal envelope and if I put it in there will insulate and then put a tank heater under it (they’re thermostatically controlled - pretty easy. Also ran across a battery compartment...
A bit of progress. Pioneer 9k btu, 21.5 SEER. Note they do not include the refrigerant connections in the dimensions specs... we barely had enough space now I’ll have to build a shroud to protect them.

We’re in a 144 4x high roof now. Unfortunately will have to sell because of the new build. Love the sprinters. If you build on this please start a thread!

Seems with that size cab you could seat seven kiddos no prob. We’re building a c5500 and using Ford jump seats to sit four across. Could likely use transit seats or sprinter seats too to achieve shoulder restraints x 8 in the back. Benefits of the jump seats is that they’ll fold for the pass...
Ha good question on the name. The Sprinter is Moby so the kids call it M2. No flex mounts unfortunately just a U bolt looking set up with factory warning to tighten at integrals. Certainly some movement between cab and box ie frame twist at major offsets.

Yep sure will. As such had to build the thermal / air boundary around it hence the silcock. Thanks though for checking.

Right on. Really just meant planning Unistrut crossbars to bolt through. The rest will be welded up. I’ll likely tack it up then have my local shop burn solid. I just have a small mig.
