It draws 6 a then you'd need atleast 100wt of solar to make it work properly, keeping in mind the loss that happens with solar harvesting through the day. As others have mentioned, I'd run a small battery to even the power supply to the dewalt. And a cheapo SCC too. Good luck.

Keep in mind power consumption and where you are getting 12v from... (no mention of) A dead battery in the middle of nowhere could be very bad. That draws 5a which is double of my Engel... constantly pulling that load will exhaust a battery quickly, what battery do you plan to use? Not the...

I bought my Engel MT45 used almost 3 yeara ago and it's been running non-stop perfectly since. I'd highly recommend Engel.

My van has the 7.3 which I was told (a long time ago) the computer would automatically see the new CC signals and just start working. And it did. I did run into a hick up once, the button's harness wasn't matched (i got all the electrical stuff from pullAparts) so I tried another and it worked.

I haven't noticed any mold, but I've delt with minor rust issues from the moisture. Luckily my heater (espar d4) blows out superdry heat to combat the moisture... somewhat.

I'm not sure how the BS 7622 will play in your needs but mine has been flawless over two years including one self- jump starting.
