Anyone know of a readily available alternator for the 300tdi? I had one rebuilt, but I don't think it works properly. I'd like to find something available locally at Autozone or NAPA. Anyone have any ideas? My 300tdi is in a 1997 D1. Thanks Jason

Bought a 1997 Discovery for $2500. No rust. Never had been off-road. There are good deals out there. Go to Discoweb. There are usually a couple for sale that are mildly built with a few off-road goodies. D2's are nice but guys complain about the electrical issues. If you get a d1, Timmy is...

Maybe with a little more parabolic experience can answer, but could you add inflatable air-bags to help with the load? I run those on my pickup, and they solve most of my issues with heavy loads and lateral stability.

Tim If you need a good, stock front bumper, I have one. It's in good shape, has washers still. I cut the bottom air dam off, but other than that no issues. If you need one......... Jason

Blake I know you've been looking for NAS 110 rims, but those Wolf rims Timmy is selling with the XZL's, they are very tough, have perfect off-set, and they look great. I have them on my D1. Love 'em Jason

Not to hijack Timmy's thread, but I'm going to start a little Tdi thread here probably next week. I'm getting the Disco on Friday. I have lots of pics, but can't seem to upload them for some reason. Keep getting an error. Doug Shipman in Portland is helping me out on the install.

neighbor and I got 48mpg Jetta with 5 speed Boise to Portland. Coming back was about 35........speed increase you know. Not quite as efficient at higher speeds.:sombrero:
