That's an excellent chart and spec sheet! Thanks for sharing. Love it.
From the inflation chart (pg35) it seems my load D 124Q tire should be 22psi front and 31psi rear. The rear is carrying about 3k lbs per tire with the camper full load. That seems really low!
Based on the same Toyo...
We’ve run the Yokohama Geolandar XAT tire for 1 year and over 13,000 miles. Are they any good?
37x12.5R17 – Load D – 3,525 Capacity – 3 Ply Sidewalls – 19/32nds Tread Depth
So far our tread depth has decreased on the outer edge to 16/32nds (not bad). However the center tread blocks are at...
@dayHiker
That's awesome! Congratulations on the new Liberty. I'm glad you like it. Definitely a solid build and value for the money. It's incredible how expensive so many of these campers are becoming. Glad your existing truck is working well too.
Appreciate you sharing your story!
That's a good idea. We found coming out of the camper backwards (same as a ladder) was helpful since you could hold onto the camper while stepping down. Might give that a try if you haven't already. Lots of learning on your new adventure!
You can get a DC socket plug that has USB and voltage. Lots of them for cheap on Amazon. Not the ideal solution but good for down and dirty!
That's incredible how well the tailgate length and step worked out perfectly. I've always thought those steps were silly but this application is...
It will be a great camper to learn on for sure! Propane fridge is good for less power draw. But compressor fridge is nicer is most other ways. But with it you'd need a better battery charging system for off grid.
You might be able to camp off grid for a couple days asis. Just monitor your...
Faith takes charge on this episode! There have been numerous requests on cooking and living in a TINY truck camper. We decided to share our dinner prep and give a tour of our space as we prepare a meal. Hopefully, this can give some good ideas to help you! Living in a small space requires...
I haven't verified but there may be multiple versions of the 10 speed. Similar to the 6 speed. Essentially a HD and less HD version. Haven't confirmed accuracy or what version gets what. May need to talk with a Ford tech as the online info is rather vague
Biggest downside with the Tremor is being limited to the XLT Crew Cab configuration (160" WB). Shorter wheelbase of the extended cab is much nicer to live with unless needing "standard doors" for regular "people hauling" duty. We saved a bunch of money with the XL truck with a few options...
The springs you get depend on the packages and configuration. They have at least 3-4 front coils and 2-3 rear leaf packs. For instance, diesel F250/F350 is different than gasser. Snow plow package. Camper package on F250. So a bit confusing and no blanket statement covers what is different...
@runaway - Thanks for sharing your journey! I do think Northstar is an excellent value. And the Laredo SC is tough to beat if you don't want to do many modifications and have off grid capability in a solid package. Of course, we love the smaller Liberty but it took a ton of customization to...
Think we mentioned it at the end of the 2nd video. IIRC we were at 30psi front and 35psi rear.
Not sure camper wet weight. We are about 6,000lbs on the rear axle fully loaded. Of course, that weight includes the big tires, steel rock sliders, bumper, aux gas tank.... Maybe I'll get a...
Tremor is an interesting offering. I guess it could make sense if not wanting to modify and desiring the crew cab. To me, the extended cab (which is similar in size to the previous generation crew cab) is best with the shorter wheelbase. You can have a better component built truck for way...
Don't do it... a shovel is way cheaper!
Plus, getting stuck makes for fun stories.... And think of all the tow bills that could be paid with the savings! Win Win.
What bearing service life are current generation Ford D60 axles seeing? I've haven't been finding many early failures (pre-100k mileage).
Keep in mind. Unit bearings are easier to live with. You don't need to hassle with regular bearing pre-load adjustments and lubrication. Basically, you...
In this episode we tackle the historic El Camino Del Diablo trail in Southern Arizona near the Mexico border.
This route translated “The Devil’s Highway” once stretched 250 miles through the Sonoran Desert. This “foot path” route is believed to have been used for 1,000 years or more. It is...
