Hi Expo folks.
Been a while since I`ve posted. Been busy with redoing the Jeep and chasing the girls in indoor soccer all winter. :smiley_drive:
The Jeep is almost done and now I`ve been surfing around the net looking for additions to my off-road trailer. The forum here has been very valuable...
Dad gave this to me today. Don`t know a lot about Coleman but was hoping someone here might help out. On the base it is stamped 8 53 if that helps any.
Worth using ? Anything to look for ?
Thanks !!
Here is a work in progress shot of my off road trailer
Looking for some ideas on a water system. Could be as simple as a couple 5 gallon jugs with a 12 volt submersible pump to ??
Thus far the pumps I`ve found are all larger then the 1.375 opening in the jugs.
How did you do yours ...
Like to link over to Pirate 4x4 the trailer I am building.

Like any project. It has it`s fast and slow times as $$ and time permits. But it finally starting to come together and some of the "neat stuff is just around the corner.

I`ve made a couple decisions.
Going to go with a deep cycle stand alone mounted on the trailer tongue. Add a fuse box with several power ports. Also a small charger mounted in the same box for an all in one power...
Anyone come up with a good way to mount their ES that doesnt use the handles as a tie down ?
Hate to add the wear and tear to the handles.
A strap across the top would work but everytime you wanted to open it..............Then the chance of clinching the strap to tight and crushing the...
The Edgestar showed up the other day.
Works good but I think the latches are a bit cheesy.
Anyways.....Several folks have talked about using one of those portable jump start boxes`s to provide 12 volts overnight. Instead of a battery.
Has anyone done any research on what a good one is and how...
Not sure if this topic should be in Overland Chef or here ?

In any case I`d really like some feedback.
Thanks !!
Found this thread while looking for information on the Parker grill. Which had LOT`s of good information.

While the thread is a couple years old. It seems that the Solaire was a favorite.
I`d like to buy a good HD stainless grill. Is...
Right now we are using a Coleman 2 burner stove and the Coleman combo stove/grill on our trips.
Can anyone sugguest an all in one stove/grill/griddle so that we are not lugging 2 units around ?
Need two stove burners and enough grill surface for a family of 4.
Don`t mind having to change...

Got a 63 on the way
No more coolers, 12 volt Colemans or other BS ways to do it.
Edgestar or Engel ? Which do I want ? From whom ?
Mostly on 110 but will see 12 volt. Have twin Yellow Tops for the 12 volt usage.
Off road durability is a must.
Just got back from a 6 day family trip at the local campgrounds. While hardly Expo material. Did get to use the trailer for the first time and also several new pieces of equipment.
With the Jeep stuff that we plan on doing..........A Galaxy is in the works.....
But with the family stuff, 110...
Going along with the equipment /store post I wanted to share/ask a few things.
Our equipment seems to be working out fairly well for a multi night stay in one place.
I do however think that I made a few mistakes if one wants to be a "mobile" camper. Staying in a new rustic spot each night...
A few observations on several recent purchases/store reviews/camping trip.
First off my experience with Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander and REI. All the store visits were within the last 30 days in and around the Detroit Michigan area.
1. Bass Pro. Nice store with plenty of Nature Scenes built...
Just an FYI,
after reading your eval on the 5 gallon pumps. Got in touch with the vendor, Jack`s Tool Shed. Out of stock and no longer available.
Did a Goggle and found the same result.
The hand powered pump is available however. Not as cool as the battery one but better then nothing...
First off, do not want this to turn into a 12v vs. ice.
Gonna be an ice but between, Engel, Tropic and Yeti.
Want something in the 50 quart size but here is the best I can do.
Engel 65 $265

Yeti 45 $279...
Saw the Partner Steel Company lantern on their web site. A Google did`nt bring much. Nor did a search here on Expo.

Anyone use one ? How is the light output ?
Are they going to be a tough as the stoves ?
Thanks !!
Kodiak showed up yesterday. :wings:
Now looking for a several folding cots. Space is a premium so a cot that folds into a small package is a plus.
Liked the SlumberJacks but they don`t fold. Leary of the Colemans.
