    New shop.... Next project!!

Oh, did Naterry's rig start as a duallie wheel? That's one of the things i didn't like about the ambulances i've seen, i don't want a duallie rig. Never occurred to me that you could run a duallie rig with single wheels, but i see looking at those pictures that he did that. ...good to know.

    New shop.... Next project!!

Sweet! That was IMHO the one fatal flaw of Naterry's build, standing height. Everything else was/is fantastic. Your sketches look rad, i can see exactly what you're going for. Can't wait to see the finished product! At first i was thinking steel or aluminum would be much better, but i can see...

    New Van Project "The Yeti"

Really? The powerstroke is a LOT louder on the highway eh? I think quiet is worth more to me than MPG. Good to know.

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

The workspace IS awesome isn't it?! I love it, it's my dad's shop, about 35 minutes drive from my house. What you can't see in the picture is the mill, lathe, drill press, steel rack, 2 or 3 mig welders, a tig welder, (no plasma cutter yet, c'mon pops!), and quite a few handy dandy oddball hand...

Nice :-) Did you weld up that aluminum framework yourself? I'd love to know how to weld Al. My dad has a TiG welder, i guess i should get over to his shop and figure it out!

FYI: Interesting 4wd van for sale

I have nothing to do with this, just came across it and i find it fascinating and thought you crew might be interested in seeing it. This could have some potential for some of you creative types. It's an E350 V10 dually with Quigley 4x4 conversion and set up as a mobile office with generator...

    93 E350 Camper with Navistar 7.3 -- Good idea?

Why don't you offer a 2 or 3" option? It seems like some people would like it, particularly in a camper where you may have a whole family in and out of the van 100 times a day. Is there a mechanical reason? I've been reading about your 4x4 conversions. Sounds like you do a very good job. I've...

    For the Astro/Safari guys.

What's this all about? I have an Astro for my work van... is the download something i'd be interested in?

    My Syncro Project

Teenwolf, i think it wouldn't bee too bad to install most of the westy interior into your syncro. That's definitely the direction i would go if i had a syncro passenger van and a 2wd westy. There are several threads about that on the samba also. What i hope to do if i can find the deals...

    93 E350 Camper with Navistar 7.3 -- Good idea?

Well i got a response yesterday from the seller. It sold yesterday morning. Oh well... it's bigger than i really wanted to go anyway. I actually don't need anmyore interior room than my westy has, i just want 4x4 and heavier duty suspension. I'll keep looking. Chris, that's exactly the sort of...

    93 E350 Camper with Navistar 7.3 -- Good idea?

I haven't seen it, it's a long way away from me. The owner has not returned email, i'm assuming for now that it is not a turbo. Both axles are dana 60... which doesn't mean much to me except that i have gathered thats a common choice and well regarded. I'm tempted. Trouble is, i really would...

    My Syncro Project

From what i've seen, making a 2WD into a syncro is a monstrous undertaking. I did an engine swap in my van, and it wasn't too bad, but having seen pictures and documentation of a syncro install, i wouldn't touch that project. Maybe (hopefully) i'm wrong and it's not that hard, but it looks like...

    My Syncro Project

Oh, yeah, 1.8T not 1.9... whatever it is, i'm not sure. It's the gas turbo 4-cyl engine that they used for years up until just a couple years ago. There's a guy on the samba who's done several of them, Stephan i believe is his name? You've probably already read about his stuff.

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

I'll copy and paste from the intro thread: Troy from Bend, OR. I love traveling all over The West and am so, so happy to live in this part of the world. Not really any kind of serious off-roader at all. I grew up on dirtbikes, then sportbikes, then dual sport. Have done a handful of long moto...

    93 E350 Camper with Navistar 7.3 -- Good idea?

Hey everyone, i'm new. I introduced myself in the appropriate thread elsewhere on the site. I have a 2WD VW Westfalia that i've done some upgrades to (including new subaru engine). But i'm not happy with 2WD, so i'm looking for something different. Either a VW Syncro camper or maybe something...

    My Syncro Project

Cool. I have an 84 2WD westy and am looking to get a syncro or go with a Ford. I need the 4WD! You going to do an engine swap? I put a subaru 2.5 in mine... whole new vehicle. I'd suggest that or a VW 1.9T or TDI. There is a ford zetec kit too, but i rode in one and didn't much like it.
