I don't own on but want one. I believe it ties into the factory rack just like the Baja rack does. If it extends pass the factory mounts then the rack rests on a expandable bolt or something. The Yakima racks mount to the factory cross bars but is not low profile.

From my understanding the front long travel and non long travel coilovers are the same. It is just the valving which is different which could be changed in the future. Also the 4runner is not built the same as the FJ. I don't think the frame is the best for long travel suspension. The CVS...

Reason i like the 3rd gen 4runner is that you can sleep in it easily. If tent camping is not an issue for you check out thr suzuki vitara. This small suv was mentioned as a runner up in the 10 best overland rigs by this very site. I don't know much about them but they get better fuel mileage...

So one reason the icon shocks interest me over the ss 1.2 is that it is not a high lift. I run 265/75/16 tires and want to keep the lift lower as my tires are ~32". I have also been informed that if I keep the 4runner under a 2" lift it would be best for handling and down travel. So what...

Easily would be a 3rd Gen 4Runner for me. 1996-1999 are the best years for cheaper budgets. I live in AZ and they can go for $3000-6000. I have heard that PNW it is not as cheap though.
