Thanks! I keep my skis in the tube. I have summer gear/ clothes in the THULE so it is much easier to just slide either pairs of skis out. I also have enough room in there for snowshoes and foldable chairs.

First off sorry to not keep you all updated. So I have been on the road for about a month and everything is going great. I am in Breckenridge Colorado Skiing everyday. The journey here went great and it took about 2.5 days. I decided not to ski in Michigan and Minnesota because the conditions...

I started the interior last night and have been making some good progress. I framed everything with actual 1 x 1.5, so the 1 inch foam board fits perfectly. I wanted to finish it all in 1/4 inch cedar plywood, but that is not available so I think I will just use birch or whatever else that looks...

Does anyone have any propane experience? I am trying to hook up my propane boat stove. I have no idea what an 11" W/C low pressure regulator is or where I can get one. Its called a cozy cabin heater by Sig Marine

The front of the bed was left white simply because I only had limited time in the heated shop and if I were to take it off and the rack I wouldn't have been able to get enough coats on the body. If I had known that I would be able to use the shop before and that my brothers were willing to help...

A little update.... My brothers were home for the holidays and offered to help me paint! I ended up using roll on berliner and a couple cans. I chose berliner because there isn't much prep work and the finish is a little harder to mess up. I have been working on the tail lights and then will...

Thank you! I wasn't sure how it would look either. I was about to move the axel but then decided to give the fender method a try. I actually am planning on heading to Jackson Hole in March, I will let you know. I can't wait for all the snow!

My goal is to keep it under 1000 pounds. To be honest I am not really sure what I am at. I could lift up half of the body before it was bolted so I think its around 400-500. I am keeping the original leaf springs and shocks, but I will be using a Timbren suspension kit which I was told will work...

I would love to paint it, it would give it a much cleaner, more finished look. My only issue is the cost, which I figure would be at least $500. If I can work somewhere out west on my trip and can make the money I will probably get it painted.

It is aluminum. Little more progress today, the solar panel is mounted. I wanted it to help with aerodynamics a little, but I think i will try to cover it while I am driving to protect it from rocks, ect. The fenders are also ready to be welded.

I just finished my finals so I have been able to make a lot of progress on the truck. The interior is pretty much ready to be framed, wired and finished. I cut out a lot of stuff that I did not need and its given me a lot more room inside. I also built the roof rack and will be building the...

    2001 Toyota Tacoma/ Adventure Vehicle

Just a little update, Last weekend I was able to get the body mounted on the truck. I should have taken more pictures, but we pretty much welded an aluminum box to the bottom of the bed and then bolted that to the truck. I used inch foam insulation and spray adhesive to insulate the bottom and...

Sweet truck! I know what you mean, I am 6'2" and it will definitely be very tight for the long trips. I would have gone with the extended cab, but this seems like the best deal at the time. Horse mats are a great idea! I will have to see if I can find the R value somewhere.

Okay so a little update. Just to finally get an idea to how the truck would look with the new bed I put it on the truck with blocks. In the picture it is sitting 6-8 inches higher then it will when it is bolted on. As you can see the fender will be an issue. I knew it would be a problem but I...

When I mount the aluminum body I am worries about galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and steel. I was thinking of using hockey pucks to keep them separated, but then I still have to worry about the steel bolts I will be using. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The bed is off of a ford ranger(I didn't even know Reading made them for Rangers). I am excited to mount it, but keep telling myself to wait because it is much easier to work on the rear suspension without it. I will be sure to post pictures
