    AEV acquires Nth

Good. Then a Tummy Tucker is still in my future. Now the question is how much will it cost now that AEV distributes thier parts through channels rather than directly....

    site for AEV equipped vehicles

WOW! Hopefully this new "Summit" buisness isn't connected with Jim Terry. http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=519348 Redding California is a popular place in that story...

    site for AEV equipped vehicles

Well...maybe, maybe not. Either way, what severly turns me off (while I quickly browsed their site) is that they are selling their project vehicle, describing it as having never been takin offroad, while it is parked on a few large boulders. While that is kind of gimicky, and people do that...

I would be VERY interested in all of the pictures you have, and take during that project. :arabia:

Diesel Jeep Wrangler - Military version

I like diesels because they have better relibility and longevity (historically, now that they are coming into mainstream vehicles, that may just be a pipe dream and they will be no better) because they are built stronger. I also like the relibility due to the fewer controls that are on the...

My obsessive search for the "right" backpack

The Tactical Tailor has a three day pack, and if price doesn't scare you, the Malice packs military personel are familure with are also available. They also have modifications for the Malice packs. The bags are tough. Everything about them are heavy duty, the zippers are huge and the handles...

    COOLers

Thats a little harsh... Judging Cabelas on something it resells. I assume that you have other examples, but I highly doubt that Cabelas has any influence on Coleman. I have been rarely dissapointed by Cabelas branded merchandise, particularly since it is tempting due to the cost comparisons...

a new trailer on the block

:wings: You will have to tell me what a "KK" is. I pretty much know "Hard floor" and "soft floor".

    Tire/wheel Question

I wouldn't want to run low pressure (10psi) in a tire over 10 inches wide on a 6 inch rim, the bead just wouldn't be very stable on side hills and while turning. As far as putting them on an LJ, you will not have any issues. All the axle widths are identical between TJ models. The back...

a new trailer on the block

HEY! Someone STOLE my idea! :victory: (maybe it wasn't cracked to begin with) Anyway, my plan is to get some experiance with a simple trailer (and inexpensive) before I go and try something like a true expedition flippy flop Australian style mobile tent condo. Its basically an offroad utility...

    photos of prototype Jeep longbed

This is what I wanted for the new "unlimited". 2 doors, diesel, I didn't think of a cargo floor (the seat of my jeep is in the closet).

    Tire/wheel Question

The steel wheels that you have pictured are narrow. They are only 6 inches wide. You won't want to use those for a 10 inch or wider tire. That said, possibly the coolest stock wheels are the Willys Edition. Willy They are what you pictured, but a dark green.

Pile of parts for my DIY trailer

I'd be really interested to know how you did the tailgate hinges. Right now I am thinking of using Weld-on Hinges (thats the actual trade name): [URL="http://www.guden.com/display-wh3.asp[/URL] But I don't think I am strong enough with the force to get them aligned straight, and stay straight...

Pile of parts for my DIY trailer

Thanks alot. That goes along way toward estimating things. I am going to try a Torflex axle, but you bring up a good point about springs, maybe that would be a better approach.... Thanks :camping:

Pile of parts for my DIY trailer

Great plan and photos. I am planning something along those lines, but in order to order an axle, I need to estimate the weight. Of course to estimate the weight, you need to know how much steel... blah blah blah. Anyway, since I don't know what I am doing  but know what I want...
