These are greatly appreciated comments. OME is an alternative as well.

    Front coil-overs

What's the consensus between SAW, Toytec or Sonoran Steel coil-overs? My use would be rough trails and exploring, not bombing desert roads. A secondary concern would be salt in the winter. Thanks.

    MFC and diesel

I just picked up a Sceptre that had diesel in it. Is there a problem putting gas in it? Will diesel have leached into the plastic and be enough to cause problems?

    What's next?

I have a 2004 TRD I am slowly building. I've added rear frame plates and sliders. Because of budget concerns I have to do things one at a time, and slower than I would prefer. As a next step, should I go with an ARB front bumper or a front suspension upgrade?

    First skidplate

Sigh. "Now for something completely different": ... do I need the Budbuilt crossmember to mount the bellypan skidplate? :Mechanic:

    Some NE Nevada fun

John, Most of the pics were taken in White Pine County, south of where you are talking about. However, a lot of Northern Nevada looks similar. The Owahee area on the Nevada-Idaho border is a nice area. The Rubies, north of me, and near Elko, are beautiful. Richie, your are correct. Most think...

    Some NE Nevada fun

It's ALL about the memories! Son and I on top of Mt. Wheeler, NV. One of us is jazzed, one of us is trying not to puke. Can you tell? More Mt. Wheeler: Fishin' daughters: An undisclosed glory hole:sombrero: Rambo: The little one can catch too! Notice the shirt. ALWAYS test gear...

    First skidplate

So, what does the Budbuilt belly pan skid plate cover? Both the transmission & transfer case? Is the Budbuilt crossmember necessary for this skid? Can I install the bellypan skid without the front skid plate? Does anyone have a picture of just the bellypan skidplate installed?

    First skidplate

Thank you for the suggestions. I've looked at Budbuilt's combo, but it's a bit pricey for me right now. I've heard one suggestion to start up front and work my way back--any other input?

    First skidplate

I am beginning incremental mods for my '04 Tacoma. Sliders are next, but on a priority list for skid plates, would a transfer case or transmission skid come first?

Box Rocket '03 DC Tacoma Build

Adam, I really like your sliders so I checked them out on Trail Gear's page. Great price for the fully welded set with the gussetts, advertised DOM & powder coat. I asked about shipping ... $211 :Wow1: That's more than the sliders themselves, and only from California to Nevada--literally next...
