Added a PPV last night, it was pretty easy except trying to not get my black RTV sealant everywhere, ignore the black patch, that's just VHB tape I scraped off, all of this will get covered up again. It was pretty easy, I already had the hole saw and RTV from my snorkel install, I think based...

I've only built an extruded aluminum shelf that my wife and I use as a step and organizer on trips, I think there's some pictures in this forum of it. It's worked pretty well and takes about 5 minutes to remove, 10 to put back in. I'm using Volle straps to cinch it to my bed rail system and keep...

I have the standard cab height. We're about maxed out when folding over the mattress (4" Megamat) + 25 degree double bag, but totally comfy with that setup. I appreciate the lower height when exploring, we scrape a lot on our forest tracks in the mountains. We got the anodized aluminum, it...

I really appreciate the barn doors after having a hatch in various Leer caps. I've hauled things locally with the barn doors latched open and it's nicer than trying to secure a hatch to prevent bouncing/breaking over bumps etc. You do lose a little rain shelter for the tailgate though. I don't...

2020 Jeep Rubicon 2 Door - AEV Upfitted Sting Grey - The Ultimate Remote Work Station - 29k miles

A bump for a beautiful JL! Talk about a go-anywhere rig. GLWS How have the STT Pros treated you? I've long been a user and fan of the STT Max's and thought about switching back to some MTs on my LJ.

Be careful where you drive your Earthroamer's...

Not surprising, weight plus too wide a rig doesn't make for a decent dirt road, much less an actual trail rig, that hog got slaughtered. What ER/EC/etc sells is an illusion of capability, the reality is that it's a fairly specialized rig that's too heavy, and too wide for much of the tighter...

The Great Truck Camper Advertising Thread (Formerly Some Lame Title)

“Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. ” ― Archimedes That rear axle made a nice fulcrum. Apparently the camper mfg and buyer slept through high school physics.

Haha, yeah I noticed the great seal and vacuum effect with things closed up. After a year of intense weather and pressure washing I only get water in through the tailgate itself, not the OVRLND.

Besides bugs, I've been a fan of the Terns+fan during our afternoon summer thunderstorms in Montana. They keep the downpours with wind out when things are still hot.

Everyone's idea of difficulty is different, I do mild to moderate rated trails monthly or more in Montana with my unlifted Rubicon JT (4s & 5s on the 10 OnX scale) and a modified LJR. We tend to be similar to Tahoe/Sierras/CO but harder than OR/WA at the same ratings. I'm disconnecting my front...

I added Air Lift bags to my soft Gladiator Rubicon suspension last year and they've been great, eliminated body roll and sag. I like being able to fine tune the ride based on the weight of my current load. Eventually I'll add some aftermarket coils, but plan on keeping the Air Lifts in.

New Rubicon Gladiator- What should I know?

We just got the Quadratec dead pedal, it is both tilt adjustable and can lift up out of the way after installation for messing around in the foot well. Which means it can rest on top of whatever thickness of floor mat, it's fine with our Mopar rubber mats. I like the classic Jeep thing, but a...

New Rubicon Gladiator- What should I know?

I'd do a dead pedal, my favorite Jeep mod in general for long trips and easy to add. I have one in both my JT and LJ. Really saves my achilles on long trips. Skids, lift etc. really depends on what and how you like to drive. I'd wait until getting accustomed to the differences, both suspension...

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

As a current mid-size owner but past full-size owner, I think this is a really good question. With the new trucks it'd be interesting to see all the updated dimensions (width, length, wheelbase, approach, departure, etc) ,real world MPG, weight, and maneuverability for their application...

I was working and mountain biking between thunderstorms this week. Love that with sideways rain the soft walls didn't flap and there wasn't any water ingress at all.

    Pactical LJ Build

It's been a great and reliable vehicle over the years (some pics). Total lift currently is ~3" full lift kit from JKS, with factory fenders. There's a little rub on a control arm at full lock and sway bar disconnected. I'm going to do a 1" body lift and get the center skid flat this season. The...

    Pactical LJ Build

With my LJR in the Montana Rockies I would agree about 35s+5.13. I have 4.88 and 285/75r16s with the automatic and it's about right for mpg and hills. I think 35s + 4.88 would be so-so on our passes at highway speeds. Mods that we've done that I like and aren't on yours already: The Rubicon...

Sweet JTR! How's the Icon ride on highway and on rough roads? I had an Icon kit on a past Taco, but curious how they would change my JTR. I find the stock Rubicon suspension way too soft. Are the added shackle points a 3rd party kit or did you fab the bumper to fit them?
