Emaergency Survival Kit; Hoping For Your Comments

For everyone with space blankets on their lists. I can say from personal experience that they are pretty much useless. Get a space bag instead. The blankets don't have enough weight to stay in place, have too many gaps, blow away in the wind, and don't keep rain off of you. A bag is much...

Lipstick on a Pig: The 10 Don'ts of Vehicle Modifications

I think that Spency's creative sentence structure has confused you. (It did me.) I'm guessing that what he meant was this: "I fully agree with some of the bullet points in the list of 10 things not to do, but only because these points correspond with physics and common sense."

    Aluminum or iron dutch oven?

I use both. Aluminum is lighter. Aluminum heats up quicker, with fewer coals required to get it up to temperature. Cast iron is less prone to "hot spots" The iron material tends to spread the heat around better than aluminum. Cast iron seasons much better than aluminum. All things...

    Wool safari shirt?

Part of the problem with wool underwear is that it is knitted, not woven. Woven wool fabrics tend to be more durable than knitted fabrics. A good worsted wool woven fabric, such as is used in tropical weight suiting, can be very durable, even in the lighter weight fabrics. When I was...

    ARB FRIDGE FREEZER REVIEW

I like mine too. It took me a while to figure out the right temperature to set it to, as the internal temp gauge is wildly optimistic (reads about 10 degrees lower than actual temperature.) Also, I've noticed that the temperature of the food inside varies a lot based on how the fridge is...

HD Trasharoo - A possibility? You tell us.

My only comment is that the original is so good, I've never had the thought that it needed to be improved. I guess if mine were stolen, I might buy the HD version, but for now, the original model works well enough for my needs. I don't just use mine for trash, but for anything I don't want...

    Wool safari shirt?

I'm looking for a lightweight tropical wool shirt. Button up, with "swiss tabs" on the sleeves so they can be rolled up, and decent size pockets. Pretty much, I'm looking for the Triple Aught Overland Shirt, but in a lightweight wool rather than cotton...

I'm finished with my 80 Series Build!!!

Yes, It's the fuel line that transfers fuel from the aux tank to the main tank. It's pretty much flush with the tank. Not much likelihood it will catch on anything.
