Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

That's a handy thing to remember. "Now before those wing-nuts walk away from vibration, drill a small hole in each wing. Then stretch a spring between the two nearest holes." I'm going to drill a hole through the bolts & put a little keeper in them.

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

Your not being a ********. Yes it's not the best place to mount it. That was the whole purpose for this thread. But at this time I can't really find a better place to put it. *note I'm not running around town with it-just on trips till I find a better place?

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

Thanks..motomech Yes I do have lift-mate do to the fact I have stock bumpers. As far as being as "poser" perhaps I could spend another 2K & pose with some store bought aftermarket bumpers:) Until then I'll just have to be smart enough to stop before I run into anything. Anyway.. yes I do plan...

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

Perhaps I should put it in a sealed water proof vault and tow it on a trailer with my hazard lights on & when I go off road I'll just leave it at home so as not to damage it. For God sakes....Live a little already!

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

After thinking about it, I mounted it on the front bumper. I figure if I hit something or get into a wreck the Hi Lift is going to be the least of my worries.

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

Thank you all for the input on this. I think I'm going to mount it on the rear of the hood left to right. I will place extra support plates under the hood to help with the extra weight. If I need to raise the hood I can just pull it off-Or it may not even be a problem raising it still mounted...

Where did you mount your Hi Lift jack?

I just bought a "Hi Lift" jack 60" and a bracket kit for mounting. My 96' Disco has no aftermarket roof rack. I'm having a hard time finding a place to bolt it down? I really didn't want to mount it to the front bumper. Have any of you mounted it to the rear part of the hood-would that be to...

Tent recommendation needed (certain stipulations apply)

I've been looking to buy a new tent for the past six months or so. After looking and comparing every tent I could find...Today I ordered a Springbar Vagabond 4 with the Portico awning. For my needs I think it's the best one out there! I wanted something to stay in 3-4 days at a time in all...

    rear trailing links?

I installed a OME lift on my 96 D1 about two months ago. I was getting some vibration/noise. I replaced the rotoflex & u joint on the rear drive shaft, took care of the problem. I rebuilt the front drive shaft as well while I was at it.

Lets talk about ring & pinion gears

revor, I talked to JC's last week he wanted $2500. that price was if he did the job start to finish. Not if I just took him the carriers in, I didn't ask him if I could just do that. I'm sure he would work out a cheaper price for that? After it's all said and done the price GB Rovers gave me...

Lets talk about ring & pinion gears

Thank all of you for your input on this.. I've gained a great deal of information on this. Now my question going around it my head is if I should look into having the hi range gear changed in the t-case or just go with 4.10's R&P.. My cost with R&P going through Great Basin Rovers would be...

Lets talk about ring & pinion gears

Before I put the 245 tires on, this is what I was running into 4th was way to high and third was running my rpm's up to high. I need to take it up to the mountains & play with it fully loaded again maybe I can get a better feel for what gearing to choose? I'm willing to give up open highway...

She's purring like a kitten...other than the lovely ticking.. (not sure it's a lifter, may be a exhaust leak?) 126k miles on it, maintenance up to date since I've had it. (I've only had it for 6 months) Anyway going up steep grades & at altitude 8k feet and up just wipe it out kills it when...

Lets talk about ring & pinion gears

How many of you have changed your gears from stock. I have a 96 Discovery with 245/75R/16 tires & stock 3.54 gears. I think that is stock?....Anyway I live in Colorado and going up passes in the mountains is a joke! I'm running 2250 RPM's at 65 mph.(4 speed automatic transmission) Most people...
