    Welcome to the 10-year club

Id say there is a third type of person in there... The one that knows what they want, is willing to put in the effort to do it and do it right, and reaps the rewards. While I loved every portion of the build, from design, to construction, to finish... from the word GO I designed it to best...

    The Heap. A Gen 2 Tracker/Vitara Build

Thanks, now if parts actually show up.... This evenings bit of work was held up by a single $5 O-ring. Discontinued by Suzuki/GM, but I managed to find a NOS source. This single O-ring seals a coolant passage that travels between the main block and the midblock/girdle. It showed up...

    Welcome to the 10-year club

Sorry, no. Due to this forum and many members and their inability to accept anything wood as a great building material, I chose to post it over on the (old) pirate4x4 forum, which has since been lost to the sands of time. If you'd like some fun reading material check this thread out.... ;)...

    Welcome to the 10-year club

End of the year this rear is officially the 10-year mark for our custom camper. I know the list will be painfully short, but Id like to see who else we have here in the club. A short bit.... I designed and built our camper from the ground up. Its a true 4-season camper, that weighs 2200lbs...

Still waiting on the cylinder head to be finished by the machine shop, so I dug into the transfercase gear swap. Trans was removed from the chassis and transfercase separated and plopped on the bench. Its a cute little thing :ROFLMAO: The gears are legit Japanese gears, that provide a 72%...

    80psi Tire Options - 35" or 37", 17" rims, 3PMS

There are plenty of benefits for narrow(er) tires. Id never consider wide, "flotation" type tires for one reason.... Snow/Ice winter travel. A narrower tire is simply safer. Especially for those of us that do not bother with a dedicated winter tire. We walk that line. Capacity, stability...

    The Heap. A Gen 2 Tracker/Vitara Build

Machine shop is have trouble finding some parts to rebuild the cylinder head. But I got the block back, cleaned up with a good hone. Turns out even after 200k miles the cylinders were still straight and round. So with that I ordered some STD pistons and here we are. DNJ standard pistons...

    80psi Tire Options - 35" or 37", 17" rims, 3PMS

Yeah, sorry for the confusion. With the myriad of floatation tires it gets a bit wild. What I was referring to was larger, load D’s that many are running that have similar max ratings at 65psi. Going down the rabbit hole, we also have the Load E1 and E2 rated tires, with the E2’s being the...

    80psi Tire Options - 35" or 37", 17" rims, 3PMS

While I don't disagree, I should point out that its not that simple when running heavy. For the same load rating, a higher PSI tire is typically narrower and typically has a heavier sidewall. That heavier sidewall and running higher PSI results in a more stable tire.

    80psi Tire Options - 35" or 37", 17" rims, 3PMS

We run Toyo (AT2) LT285/75R18's specifically for the load rating. We typically scale between 11,000 and 12,000 lbs. @ 80PSI they are rated at 4080lbs per tire. Roughly 35k on them now, doing a 5-tire rotation. No doubt we will get 50k on them, provided I put up with some reduced winter traction.

    Superduty seat question

yep, model year changes, 2011-2016 is the same. And I can attest, they are the most supportive and comfortable seats Ive ever had in a truck. I routinely do 400-600 mile days with our 2011 Superduty.

I am trying to find an electrical problem in the headlights and running lights on a 2016 F450 6.7L ambulance

Good luck. Ambulances are typically an absolute mess of upfitter wiring. This is also a platform that utilizes CANBUS, so the changes/fixes you need to make may require access to the ECM/BCM. I use ForScan. I do know for certain that headlights/DRL as well as running boards (puddle lights)...

    Big skylights on Amazon

If Tern currently offers an insulated/dual pane option, Id say it would be worth considering. The only downside with our marine hatch is that it is not insulated.
