Tired of Old Junk but no Interest in Newer 4x4s

84 grand? Sure, for a brand new, fully optioned GMC Sierra k2500 Denali or Chevy K2500 High Country maybe. A new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is in the 50's to 60. I dont know where that extra 24k comes from EDIT: just priced out a brand new GMC Sierra K2500 HD Denali Crew Cab Long Bed -the most...

Tired of Old Junk but no Interest in Newer 4x4s

Big fan of the manual 4x4 lever like on GMT400 trucks but they are gone. Manual gearbox Subaru? Maybe on 2 models only now. Otherwise get a 10 year old one.

    12v portable jump starter issues?

Good to know about the 9 volt, then!

    12v portable jump starter issues?

They usually come with a bypass mode so it will send a jump whether it detects voltage or not. Just, in bypass mode, there is no polarity protection circuit enabled, that's all. For me, I always keep jumper cables in any vehicle I have. The NOCO GB40 is a nice addition that should work if...

    12v portable jump starter issues?

Just picked up a NOCO GB40 based on what I've read here. Was in Wallyworld and there it was on the shelf, and only about 5$ more than on Amazoo. Worth the 5 bucks not to wait so I grabbed it. I've charged it up. Wish it didnt only charge via USB but I guess that's progress. Will be trying on...

    Binoculars

Every review for the Vortex Diamondback has mentioned that the Vortex Crossfire is lower priced and better bang for the buck. The Diamondback beats out the Crossfire in every metric but only by a smidge. If I were in the market I'd try the Vortex Crossfire

    Binoculars

I've got some old, simple Bushnell (Spectator Sport?) model 13-1024's that do well. As the model# indicates they are 10x24 but they are somewhat compact, streamlined, and reverse Purro, so getting them in and out of the case is fast and smooth. Nothing ever gets snagged and I have no problem...

    New Bronco Submersible

I love Bah Habah! My Beagle took a big poop up on the hill at Agamont Park, to much applause and fanfare because he had been exhibiting a vigorous, acrobatic, and delightful case of "the zoomies" for the 10 minutes immediately prior to facilitating the release...but I digress... This Bronco in...

Counts as clothing, right? Pup Collars

Double Stitch on both sides of the existing large D ring so it doesn't get pulled and split the two layers of leather apart

Counts as clothing, right? Pup Collars

Looks like nice work! A second, smaller D ring for the tags so they dont accidentally get removed when clasping and unclasping the leash. Also that was good attention to smooth out the area where the double back portion meets the main leash. It's often left rough and scratchy Let me know when...

Simple rims for modern full size trucks?

Not a Dodge but in my case, I set the alloys in the barn and currently have on the GMC steelies from the base model.

Anyone using an GMC AT4 or any other GM pickup for overlanding?

I think they are bringing back the Montana name plate and affixing it to thier new, unibody, Maverick-fighter truck

Anyone using an GMC AT4 or any other GM pickup for overlanding?

A number of tech related fleets used them like Diebold ATM repair contractors and other such. They swore by them. When you put it up next to first gen Chevy Avalanche you begin to see the trend they were involved in.

2008 GMC Yukon Denali Off-road build advice

Sounds like a super nice ride! I've seen older (GMT400) GMC Suburbans (yes, the GMC Yukon XL used to be called the Suburban just as the Chevy is) used as Overlanding vehicles. Nice desert mountain trails. They can be capable and comfy. One thing to note here is that the Denali is All Wheel...

Thule XT roof basket w/extension and lock. Northern VA

Casual interest but does anyone know if this will clamp onto Trac Rack cross bars like these? Thule bought Trac Rac a few years ago, so that would be nice

Horrible reverberations between roof and RTT

In automotive aerodynamics there is down force where the hood meets the bottom of the windshield, but along most of the hood and roof, there is lift. The placement of your RTT is displacing that lift and back flow. Did you ever see some raised ram induction hoods in muscle cars, and see how...
